so...are they doing it by which school you applied to? does this mean gallatin may come soon? ahh this is stressing me out.

thanks guys!!! im so happy for you too! nyu is the only place that i wanted to go =]
what studios do you guys want?

Are the invitations going to be send out throughout next week too? I have a close friend who applied for CAS with me, but he didn't get any invitation yet. And I was certain he would get in with his stats. :(

IndiaGurley, I'm leaning more towards the Meisner Extension Studio--that's what I wanted before I even auditioned and I'm almost certain that's where I hope I'm placed come April. I love everything about the technique, but the very small class size provides many pros, yet some cons that kind of have my mind wandering to some of the larger studios. Still, the pros definitely out number the cons and I'm crossing my fingers for Meisner. (Though all the other studios all seem so cool too!) How about you, and my other fellow Tisch students?

I would like Cap 21, but if not, the Lee Strasberg Institute really interests me as well. I talked about it in my interview while doing my artistic review. I like Meisner too, though. All of the studios have something great to offer.

So far from my school (international - received by email):

2 LSP
1 Stern
1 CAS

indiegurl Congrats!! just curious what state are you living in?

thanks again guys! i'm from michigan krisjan :)
i reallllllllllllllllly want to be in atlantic then mesiner is my second choice. i really like the techniques. I was in the nyu tisch summer high school program and studied strasberg there, and it just didnt work for me, i felt like there was so much emphasis on crying on cue but they teachers were absolutely amazing over at stras.

in all honesty, whereveer they put me i will be fine because i get to go! =]
lets just hope that fin aid package is decent...

^I hear you, IndiaGurley! The fin aid package will determine everything for me. I already got accepted to another college that is willing to give me a full ride, so you can imagine that my family (except my mom actually) has been pushing me to attend the latter. It's just that I really wanted to go to NYU. I guess we'll just have to see when official acceptance letters come out with fin aid info. Good luck to everyone else with fin aid offers!

Tisch film, but did theatre studies in high school - Atlantic was co-founded by David Mamet, who studied under Meisner (not sure about William H. Macy...), so it figures that their ideas and techniques are similar. Adler is slightly different, but their fundamental beliefs are related (Adler and Meisner were close friends, after all).

Strasberg is very different (and in fact Meisner and Adler both opposed his methods - one of the reasons for the breakup of the Group Theater. You'll find Mamet isn't very kind towards Strasberg's methods either). Just a thought for anyone who's considering Strasberg and one of the other three - having read stuff by/about all of them, I'd even go as far as to say Strasberg's ideas and Meisner/Adler/Mamet's can't be reconciled. But, whatever works!

Just my $0.02!

I just got into Stern today! I'm only about 45 min. away from the city, so I'm not sure what they're timing is with sending out these letters. [: I'm soooo exciteddd [:!!!!!

In at Stern today, upstate NY.

Accepted to the Leonard N. Stern School of Business!

Got accepted into Leonard N. Stern today!!!

Accepted into Stern today as well.

Anyone know how long it will take for the actual acceptance letters/financial aid info to arrive? Ahh, I'm so nervous about the financial aid...and here I thought my nerves would be over once I started getting into schools...lol

Probably in a week or two.

Actual acceptance letters should arrive by April 1st. Financial aid comes later along with housing and other stuff ...
