It's a letter saying that as long as I attend the Presidential Honors Scholars Weekend, which is one of the admitted student events they were probably talking about in the site, I will be admitted into the honors program.

how did you get that? did you have to apply to the honors program? or was it just offered?

OMG Congrats, you guys! I can't wait to get home so that I can find out if I got into Tisch (for Drama). It's good to here Tisch has begun releasing decisions.

i got the letter saying that ill receive an admission package shortly, but it does not mention the honors program. (i got into stern) does that mean they send likely letters to both ppl that get into honors and those who don't? do u apply for honors or do they just pick you?

I didn't apply to the Honors Program. My email said:

"Congratulations on being selected as a DEAN's scholar at NYU! ... You (and 70 others) were chosen from among 21,000 students for your incredible depth as a thinker, a humanitarian, and a changing agent within your school and community."

The D.E.A.N. thingy is a scholars program which also makes you in the College's Presidential Honors Program, according to another letter I got. I've been searching online for a while, and have reached the conclusion that the programs are synonymous. (Sorry if I didn't use that right; I couldn't think of the right word and I'm in a hurry, haha)

They pick the top 5% of the admitted class and put them in the College's Honors Presidential Program; no separate application is necessary. But you can apply for it in the spring prior to your sophomore year.

i got into stern school of business too desperate asian. i didn't apply for any scholarship but I got into the Martin Luther King Scholars Program (is that same as honors?) with a 25k scholarship per year which I'm pretty happy about lol.
