etc: first generation college student, don't live with my parents, male, mexican, from alaska

I just got the letter! Never been so happy to see a UPS package, haha!

Everyone in this thread talking about "letters" and "getting in" is referring to those likely letters right? Like has anyone gotten an official, no-nonsense offer of admission (the ones that we aren't supposed to get until April 1st)?

a ups package?? guess the days of the "big envelopes" are over... ? lol

Like EHS's, my letter I recently received says, "Congratulations! Your official offer of admission to the CAS is on the way to you!"

It's a letter saying that as long as I attend the Presidential Honors Scholars Weekend, which is one of the admitted student events they were probably talking about in the site, I will be admitted into the honors program.

"While we are in the process of finalizing decisions, we must also begin mailing program invitations so that families can make necessary travel arrangements."

Which means, I think, that they sent out these Honors program letters out first (probably because they cover transportation costs) along with invitations to the other Admitted Students Events, so those should be coming out soon too.

But no, I haven't gotten the official letter yet.

All of you receiving letters, where do you live?

I'm down here in Texas and sweating bullets.

MA area. .

(sigh) I live in CA...waiting to hear from Stern

I live in California too. :(

Just got into Arts and Science. Pretty sneaky email though, I thought I would be getting information on attending some spring break event.

I don't think I got accepted, then... :(

roberto, it's still really early. don't give up hope... especially not on march 10th =D

I'm not sure if this is a "likely letter" but I got an email saying:

"Congratulations! I am very pleased to inform you that your offer of admission to New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development will be mailed to you at the end of March. You can expect to receive a UPS package from our office on or around April 1st. In addition to the offer of admission, you will learn more about the next steps in securing a place in our Class of 2013...."

:D Yay!

Oh and I live abroad in Asia...

Roberto. Relax. The NYU blog says that acceptance are released till late March. Im sure you'll get in

On a positive note, I got an email today which says
"Congratulations! I am very pleased to inform you that your offer of admission to New York University's College of Arts and Science will be mailed to you at the end of March. You can expect to receive a UPS package from our office on or around April 1st. In addition to the offer of admission, you will learn more about the next steps in securing a place in our Class of 2013."

called NYU. It means that admission is secured
:D:D:D

And I too live in Asia. Mumbai, India to be precise

internationals are always notified by email.

so don't expect anything in your e-mail (for the most part) if you aren't an international.

Man you guys are on fire! :D But why are so few people getting into Stern?

Dear xyz ,

Congratulations! I am very pleased to inform you that your offer of admission to New York University's Stern School of Business will be mailed to you at the end of March. You can expect to receive a UPS package from our office on or around April 1st. In addition to the offer of admission, you will learn more about the next steps in securing a place in our Class of 2013.
