Anyone gotten likely letters yet?

^I live in NYC and I haven't heard yet...:(
Haha, I'll join your antsyness, Hope101!

^whoa, ashuri, THANK YOU SO MUCH for pointing that out. I didn't even see it...I'm not a finalist so I just read the first couple of lines and went "BAH, DAMMIT, NYU WHY DIDN'T YOU SEND ME A LETTER TODAY?" and deleted it.

Though to be honest, I think it doesn't mean we're accepted or anything. It seems like you have to be a finalist to qualify as a scholar anyways and so I think it just means that they welcome whoever can join, not everyone who got the email.

Soooo confused. Grrr....

esgee,

Yeah, that's why I'm hesitant to assume that we're in...

Got both the National scholarship email and acceptance letter to CAS today! I don't know if that means that the email is a "likely" letter.

Good luck to the rest of you.

@FadedSpirits,

How did you get the acceptance letter? In the mail? And also, where do you live?

hey what about GALLATIN applicants??? anyone receive any word??

It's sort of like a likely letter i think. Probably for applicants that "stood out"? Definitely did not correlate with app time, because I submitted mine the day b4 it was due.

I'm just so happy i got one!

any steinhardts!?

i got in college of arts and sciences- nyc to be exact

I am insanely jealous of you all!

Tisch film who got in, can you post your stats? I'm freaking out.

wiggin: I could post but I doubt it'd be representative (international). Besides, half of the decision is down to your artistic review.

Tisch students, but probably everybody, needs to stop getting so worried. Traditionally the first contact with Tisch students is an early invitation for Saturday in the Square - and even that is supposedly not the majority. Last year the invitations arrived around March 14. The letters at least from Tisch people are getting now seems to be for the Honor/Scholars program which is only the top 5% of all NYU. So unless you got at least the high 2200s you probably are not going to get one. I think the reason these have been sent out so early is twofold - it is their earliest event (last weekend in March?) and Columbia has been sending out a lot of likely letters. The only other people getting letters seem to be international, but that seems true of many schools because the decisions and the preparations (anybody heard of visas?) are so much more complex. So everybody should calm down. Sometimes I think this list is so destructive.

Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted and good luck to everyone else!

Yeah, I got the invite today (Long Island, NY). I wonder if I could afford it...

Yes!!! I just got my letter! Tisch Drama letters are on their way! (I feel so...relieved right now!) Congrats to everyone else and good luck to those still waiting...trust me, I really do know how it feels.

CenterUSDad...my D is a senior at Tisch. She is a Tisch Scholar. Tisch Scholars is no longer in existance for incoming classes. Further, you do not need that SAT score you mentioned to be one. Further still, when my D was admitted, it began with her invitation to Saturday in the Square. Later, she got invited in a letter to be a Tisch Scholar. Then, on April 1, she got the admissions letter and scholarships. Then, a week after that she got the studio assignment for Tisch. Her invitation to Saturday in the Square was postmarked March 18. However, I can see it possibly being sooner this year if Saturday in the Square's date is sooner (though I do not know if that is so). But this is about the time when Saturday in the Square invites tend to go out but not every accepted student will get one. But that has NOTHING to do with Tisch Scholars (there are only about 18 Tisch Scholars per year and far more students...WAY more...get invited to Saturday in the Square). Again, Tisch Scholars program has ended anyway.

i just got one for CAS!! does this also mean we're getting merit scholarships?

i got one for CAS too! since there was no mention of the honors program, do you think they will tell us in the admission letter or would they have told us in the likely letter?

I just got one for TISCH!! YAY!!! I live in southeastern PA. Congratulations everyone!! :-D I can't believe it... still in shock.
