My daughter took some type of assessment in 8th grade and Meredith College's name came back as a result. Now, 2 1/2 years later, she's still talking about this school and an interior design major. Is anyone familiar with this school? I've never heard of it.

I've certainly heard of it, but then I lived in Virginia for seven years and worked at a woman's college. I don't know a lot about it, however.

I've heard about it. A math teacher at my school went there. Let me put it like this: My world history teacher had more math than she did. :)

Meredith College is right down the street from NC State University. So there is an ample social scene. One of my best friends attended Meredith many years ago. That friend's neice is a current student attending Meredith as a NC Teaching Fellow (scholarship recipient). It is a small women's college with a pretty campus in an ubran area of Raleigh. Admission to Meredith is not difficult.

D is a "B" student, unlike many here on cc, so this could be a fit. So it's easy to get in, not the best in math, urban, single-sex, yet close to a large university? Thanks. Any more comments?

Will add .... Meredith has 2100 students including about 150 grad. students, and offers a variety of study abroad programs. The mid 50% SAT 950-1140, ACT 18-23. Their website shows quite a few merit scholarship opportunities including one for Interior Design. My friend who is a Meredith grad. majored in something related to fashion/retail/design..something like that. She has worked for the Liz Claiborne Co. for many years.
