Question:
Do u agree or disagree with the statement?
People spend too much time on personal enjoyment--doing things they like to do--rather than doing things they should do.

People are born to have the rights to enjoy all the marvelous things around them, and it is hard to say no to all the temptation surrounding us due to human nature. At the first glance, nothing seems wrong to get drowned in our own personal enjoyment, while something deeper behind may emerge if we take a closer look. The bases for my views are personal, financial and sociable.
From our personal perspective, it is true we often get a maximum of pleasure without worrying about all the troubles and enjoying the things we are into, however, if we continue to let this hedonistic side winning over us, life may lost its significance to us. What's the point living a life without all the hard works in pursuing our dreams and just wandering around all the time basically doing nothing? I don't think that's the life most people are chasing for.

Financially, to lead a life that depends mostly on personal enjoyment costs money. In other words, those who spend huge amounts of money on enjoyment contributes nothing to the economy, on the contrary, they are hindering it by squeezing the money earned by others' hard work. So, they are generally a huge burden to the economy because they focus too much on their pleasure instead of creating wealth for their country.
Socially-speaking, we are all human fellows congregating in this unity called world and depending largely on one another at the same time. There is something far more important that outweighs our personal feelings in a larger scale. How is one able to survive without interacting with others and just mind his or her own business? We need to show that we care about our fellows and we are able to put our heart and soul in this interdependent Society. From this aspect, people who spend time only on personal enjoyment may seem to be too myopic.
As a whole, it is important to bear in mind that life isn't confined in our own world, we ought to take a step into a larger space so that we may fully take the advantages of the brilliant minds and profound wisdom passed on by our ancestors.
