Anyone ,I know Im really young but Im just wanna here from others who have such an impossible dream đđ

Hereâs an assignment for you: find out the names of five other non-Ivy league colleges you can see yourself attending and why.

May I suggest avoiding the trap of Ivy-label-worship early and often?

Not to sound incredibly condescending, but Princeton (or any other college, for that matter) class of 2020 thread? This may be one of the most obtuse threads Iâve ever seen.

Read through peopleâs chance me threads or actual results threads and get an idea for what youâre up against. Stop âdreamingâ of schools as a freshman and start working towards them - get good grades, involve yourself in activities you like, and intellectually grow (i.e. get a personality and overall package that you can one day sell). DONâT waste your time moping around on CC - itâs an activity you wonât grow from; you canât put it on apps (if thatâs what youâre after) either. I have over one thousand posts on this site, and can personally attest to its addictive and often useless nature.

Not to rub salt in the wound here, but please reread statements like this:

I think youâre getting way ahead of the game here. Few get into Princeton because theyâve spent the previous four years building a perfect resume for Princeton. They get in because theyâve done well in school and also done something in addition that they truly loved to do, and excelled at it.

Have some fun in high school, do what you love to do, try to do well in all areas, and see where things are pointing you three years from now.

And as T26E4 mentioned, donât fall in love with the Ivy League brand. No deities attend Princeton or any of the other Ivy schools.

2020? Get out

You guys are so mean! HahaâŠalthough I do see the reasoning behind your posts.

Skylar789: It is never too early to dream! But, like the others said, try not to get too caught up in the whole college process until at least Junior year. Instead, focus on high school first. Good luck!

Nothing wwrong with looking ahead. I would probably try very hard to select Honors and APs, try to have few to zero non A grades on my report cards, be deeply involved in one or two extracurriculars (I think that debating may be good if you would find it fun). I assume that attending one or more summer programs for hs students if offered at Princeton might help.

Not sure why your reasonable post was met with a degree of condescension in my opinion, but there is definitely some good advice sparsed in there. I think that you want to balance your interests, have a lot of fun, consider many many colleges for yourself, and do things that give you relaxation and satisfaction.

Iâm sorry if I sounded like a naive freshman and I will take all of your advice into consideration and t6e4 I do have one college that I would like to go to.its rushers and they have an excellent music program.maybe I should forget about completely until senior year.thanks guys

Itâs Rutgers not rushers

Best of luck to you Skylar. Remember that your HS experiences arenât just a spring board to the next stage. Enjoy what you have and make the most of your opportunities. Rutgers is awesome, too BTW.
