Anyone know the Point Cutoff....

...for anyone who happened to call UCSD admissions office? Also I know you need a 3.0 weighted to attend but anyone know the minimum grade allowed for a community college course?

sounds like the point cutoff was 7744

it was 7744 and they averaged your community college GPA with your high school GPA and i think they weigh the cc course as part of the 8 honor courses you can add to your UC GPA if that makes sense.

No I mean, how do they weigh community college courses for senior year?

Oh, i’m assuming they like it and count it as an AP class since it is a college course and you get college credit [without taking the AP test]. I took 2 last summer, 2 in the fall and 1 this semester and i got accepted to UCSD and UCI so far. It wasn’t meant to boost my application but i guess it did. I just wanted to get ahead if i ended up needing to transfer.

it was 7744. Because I called UCSD asking them how come I was called waitlisted and then portal said I got in and they said My point was at 7745 after they reread my essay and then they accepted me :D.

^ congratulations!!!

thanks it was a close call :).

^ That was a hella close call!

epic win shibykin! Which college, major you going into? =D

Congratulations Shibykin  Also, anyone know if the 3.0 requirement is looked at per semester or for the entire year (first and second semester combine)?

i got in warren D:. I heard thats the engineer school and i’m a communication major -.-. I really wanted to get in Muir, but I guess thats what i get for putting the colleges in random order XD.

igotsunshine. It’s both semester :).

congrats shibykin

thanks XD. I’m hoping I get in the mid tier UCs also :). I might consider them over UCSD :).

oh gosh that’s awesome congrats!! I’m really curious how many points I got now. around what time did you call?

Shibykin, I just emailed UCSD and this is the response that they gave me: “Your senior year GPA is calculated for the entire year using A-G courses only.”

^ igotsunshine, is that for transfers? I thought UC’s didn’t look at senior year grades.

lol. I guess it depends on who you call. You shouldnt be getting lower than 3.0 W GPA anyways either semester <.< anyways :).

3.92 uc gpa

just realized that i never put first gen college student when i applied!!! thats 300 points right there! and i was on the edge too!!! what should i do??

I think they figured that out from ur app lol. They could always do a search on ur app and check to see youre you b4 they addmited or rejected u so I think they already included that in their analysis.
