<p>I have a few questions to ask about UCR off-campus:
1. What are some of the best off-campus apartments?
2. Do you need a car if you live off-campus since you will be far away from campus?
3. How is the safety in each apartment?
4. Do people make friends from living off-campus? Is it very loud at night if you live off-campus?
5. Do students seem to disappear from campus life once they leave on-campus housing?</p>
<p>Im a freshman and I chose to live off campus at grand marc. I looked at university towers and sterling and found grand marc to be cheaper and better in my opinion. Its about a 10 to 15 minutes walk to campus or the bus and trolleys also run up and down just about every street by campus. A car is nice, but I have three roomates who minimally use their cars. Grandmarc is gated and usually has a security guard at night, but really it comes down to how safe you are, walking home in the dark by yourself with no other students around obviously isn’t going to feel very safe. </p>
<p>The social life I’m sure isnt the same as in the dorms, but I have become friends with my 3 other roomates and there’s always social events going on in the game room and theater room. I’ve made friends in all my classes and well its not that bad. Noise has never been bad except for the times the party was in my living room. Campus life is what you make of it I suppose. I have my own room and bathroom and this huge pool and jacuzzi that I love.</p>
