Best off-campus apartments?!?!

Hi I am a transfer student looking for the best off campus apartment. Ive checked out the grandmarc, UV towers, and the Palms but i read reviews and theyre not looking too good!
any recommendations for apartments that is close to UCR? ive asked my friends and some say sterling, summer meadows and a lot more... would appreciate any help, esp from current/previous experiences!

you should take a tour in person

Have you checked out Sterling Highlander? I think its the newest complex. Built in 2012 I think. I hope to transfer to ucr next fall and I plan on living at Sterling

I just transferred and will be going for my first quarter in the fall, im staying at summer meadows and its close enough to campus that I can walk from there and the rent is fair, I enjoyed the room the apartments had.

Rarely does someone take the time to leave a positive review. And the negatives are usually exaggerated. I’ve heard sterling has great views of the homeless that camp out across the street. Grand marc has a bad rep for crime. I’m goint to UV towers since it’s close to the village and a quick run to 7-11.

I’m currently living at Grandmarc – its decent my opinion, but it would be better to find someone you know to live with you. Overall its all based on personal preference, decide on apartments based on how you would live by yourself (closure, privacy, ultilities, etc)

From what I’ve gathered (and honestly, Yelp gives you a pretty decent profile, I think), UV Towers would probably be your best bet. The only bad things I’ve heard are that your parking spot inside the parking garage can be jacked by students cramming for parking for the UV Theater (but they’ll most likely get ticketed). Stories about mold growing and what not are probably just one-time instances.

Grand Marc is extremely popular but it’s become notorious, as mentioned, for crime - and I’ve heard noise is a continuous nuisance for residents. I know tons of people who lived there and they had mail and packages go missing, stolen, and the management there doesn’t give a crap.

Sterling I’ve heard is pretty good - it’s also a popular choice. I know it underwent extreme remodeling after I left UCR, but for the most part, I’ve heard conditions there aren’t bad.

I would actually recommend Glen Mor, but it’s on-campus and very expensive, so that may not fit your bill.

The winning play is to rent out a house room for like 300-500 a month.
