So, when we where handed our answer documents I noticed a Test 5.. I didn't have enough guts to look at it until it came time to take. It was a 28 question (20 min.) grammatical test with 1 passage.. Also, for some reason the questions on the back of the test booklet that asks where you all seated facing the same direction (etc.) wasen't there. Does anyone know what was up with that??.. This was the WORST act test I have EVER taken. All of my reading test I thought that everyone was going to have to retake the entire test. One kid decided to complain that we got cut short 2 or 3 minutes on the first 2 sections. (which i also noticed but, I wasen't going to say anything) Then the lady was like I will contact ACT and, see if there needs to be a retest.. Anyways, just thought I would share.. We didn't get out till 1!! And, the test adminstrator didn't really know what she was doing either..

I didnt get the extra section. But thats because I had writing so they probably didnt want us to waste more time doing the extra section. I did notice how we didnt have to answer the survey questions like if you sat like 3 feet away, etc…My proctor also said 5-8 weeks for test results which is longer than usual

I had a section 5 too but mine was science lol and there were only like 16 questions

I didn’t look but I was turning the page and I think I saw math questions. But we gave it in and went on to the essay.

This is really weird… @Canefreak2001 where your questions hard?? And, did you have 20 minutes??

I didnt have to do them, we went straight to the writing section. Im guessing it is like the experimental section of SAT

Do you think that they will score them??.. I mean it was like an additional english section. And, from what you said you had science… It just through me a curveball but, I think I did fine.

I doubt they will score them cause how would they compare it to the people who didnt take it, they were prob just trying to test something new

Well, I hope so… We will see in 2 1/2 weeks… Was it hard or no?

I had an reading passage and the proctor told us to not do it. so glad.

We had to do ours-proctor said it was mandatory

I had an extra too! Except mine was math, and only 20 mins with 16 qs. And I also didn’t have the survey. It was weird! But we got out at the usual ACT time

I had an extra Math section: 16 questions in 20 minutes. The questions were significantly more difficult than the regular math section though. My proctor said that this extra section did not count, so I think it is some experimental thing since when I took it last December this section was not included.

For people that did the extra section, did you take the writing test?

No, I did not.

jkatlek: glad to know that it doesn’t count…I guess… The whole passage was about lice… Eww… I was really just being nosie and, wanting to know more about it… There was a male proctor that was doing it and, he retired so this lady took over… The first time that she did gave the test without him, she couldn’t figure out how to pass out the booklets so she ended up taking them all up and repassing them out… The same thing happened with the answer documents… That didn’t happen today but, she couldn’t get other stuff right today… She has no business adminstering a test like this…

You know the test ends at one right?

I didn’t take the writing and, still didn’t get out till 1…

I hate to be this late, but the June ACT always has an extra section for non-writing testers. The way my proctor explained last year, the ACT basically distributes random passages and questions to students to analyze future curves. I’ve heard that curves are set 5 years in advance, so I assume that the ACT does some analysis with student responses and current student scores to maintain a parallel between test difficulties.
