Etondad, I was there, but we lost most of Monday due to a storm-related overnight in Chicago so I was running frazzled on Tuesday. Did get to the Parents Meeting and was so impressed with all the speakers. My S had visited last September as part of WOW, but I had not seen the campus so it was a treat to be there if only for a couple of days. Warmth and caring just exude from everyone and it all feels quite genuine. It was hard to say good-bye, but made easier knowing he is in such an awesome place!

You are right about the sense of caring (my D came from a NE boarding school and the speeches sounded the same (just raise the age level of the students)). It is clear that Williams loves its students and that the students feel the same way about the College. I loved how the football coach was there shouting at his players to “move, move, move” in both senses of the word as we were unpacking the car–and having a room 4 flights up w/o an elevator their assistance was most welcome. When I went to the coach afterwards asking if I could do something to show my appreciation he said–“please come and watch us play.”

What a place!

Unfortunately I did not see your post until I returned from dropping D at Williams. I am still very sad about my D leaving home, but I definitely feel she is in a safe, warm and welcoming environment.

Etondad, what dorm is your D in? My S is four flights up in Willy–F entry.

She is in Sage C.
