Anyone on the waitlist hear back yet?

as an accepted student, just letting you know that the waitlist is pretty much closed- no more spaces in artssci and SEAS.. (we talked with students who talked with deans)
so dont keep waiting on uva

^^ I wonder if its different for transfers though.

when did they tell the decisions of the people who were admitted? i have friends on admission and they told me that there were 4k on the list and only 100 kids were making it, so I don't get what your saying, b/c he told me they did not make my decision yet. I'm confused.

I have 2 friends that got off of the waitlist...they said they heard by email but also got letters in the mail

how long ago!!!!!!!!

Jaw, any idea how they got off the waitlist?
Thanks.

Nurjahan- Which waiotlist are you talking about? The freshmen or the transfer list?

Just FYI...

I called UVa Undergraduate Admissions Office today and spoke with someone. They are still looking at the numbers for the incoming class and all decisions regarding the freshmen waitlist should be sent by early June. Contrary to what was posted above, the waitlist is not "closed"

Hope remains...

omg thank goooddd!!! i really want to go there!!! when i read that it was closed i was haeart broken!

see peterwahoo

do u know what school they applied to?

Shoebox-- it is not clear if this person has gotten of the freshmen or transfer waitlist. According to Dean J's blog a few freshmen got off the waitlist. They saw a little movement on the freshmen waitlist. Aslo according to Dean J's most recent blog they will be going to the transfer waitlist for a few applicants to the arts and science school. No movement will be seen on the transfer list until 10 day to a week. Shoebox-- please clarify what post you find significant to tansfer applicants on the waitlist.

Well, there were people asking about the first-year waitlist. And seeming it's pretty early, i'd guess its a first year. And I don't know much more, that's why I didnt write anything else. I was just providing a stepping stone for anyone wishing to pursue it. Don't shoot the messenger.

no need to be defensive-- just making sure I didn't miss anything-- thanks!

update-

i meant freshmen students.
and yes when i said that the waitlist is closed- i meant it, and it was for CLAS not Seas, not architect, or any othr.- just CLAS
i KNOW as i TALKED with the DEAN and he said that "the college of arts and science is full".

I am admitted to uva AND the Rodman Honors Program- i talked with the dean because i was wondering about transferring from SEAS to CLAS.
but i changed my mind and i Love SEAS now !!!

nurjahan: you LOVE SEAS now?

I'd love to see how much you love SEAS in a year.

First year of E-school is nothing but fun. Seriously, my best two semesters at UVA. After two years, I still love it.

err.... I got off the waiting list about a week and a half ago for SEAS. Heard by email, then letter, then financial aid on phone (which was killer). Was all set on staying in Boston (at BC), but you cant really turn down UVA to go to BC...

I never sent a letter or anything, I really don't think that makes a difference at a big school like UVA. Atleast it didn't for me. All I did was check the box online that said that I would like to pursue the waiting list.

Thought people might want to know. Anyone else get off the list? I'm kind of wondering when I'll get all my stuff and info about orientation etc.

go cavaliers!
