thats like saying all michael jordan did was win nba chmpionships, or all babe ruth did was hit homers and win penants. what do you mean "ALL HE DID" was win on grass. damn, its hard enough to be pro, but to win tons of wimbledon tournaments and "a couple" of us and aussie opens is phenomenal. and he won a lot of other, less publicized tournaments.

lol chill, winning wimbledon does not equal nba championships. I was just saying that agassi is a better overall player!

bs..........

Yeah, I would say that Sampras had a better overall game. Just look at the stats.

However, as of now, Agassi probably has the second best game. Second to Federer. His return of serve and baseline shots are brutal. Great angles and everything.

overall - all court player

right now federer is the best

federer's game is quite impressive. When he is on, nobody can beat him. He is a machine.

Guga is still my number 1 player. He has my exact game (extreme western forehand and 1 handed backhand) and he surfs!

Tennis (and all its mutant babies like badmit, squash, raquetball, and table tennis) are awesome times 10^4. I practice against my carport wall every day and play matches when I can, but I don't have time (or room in my schedule) to play at school. Can't wait to get it going in college though :)

It's also the only sport I watch routinely on television. Go Roddick (despite his recent suckage)! He's not too far down the road from where I live.

philntex,
do live near san antonio?

I wish I could play tennis, I hope I could walk on but most likey not

I don't really remember Sampras all that well. I didn't watch as much tennis when I was young, so I have no memories or connection with him, all I know is that he is a living legend, maybe the best tennis player of all time. But I was just watching the Aussie Open, and they had this really touching piece on the Sampras v. Courier 5-set epic match at the Open, I'm not sure what year. At the time, Pete's good friend was diagnosed with a brain tumor. And stone-cold Pete just lost it on the court. He was just crying in between points, trying to keep the tears in. And for some reason, I found myself comparing him to Superman. There he was, slouching and crying, trying not to show it, and he throws up the ball and hits an ace. Again, and again. Just pummels through each point. Even at his lowest, most vulnerable point, he was still a superman on the court.

Now I MUST find some tapes of Sampras matches to watch.

Alas, no, coqui. I'm up in central TX (a.k.a. the armpit of TX or the colon of TX).

sigh....one more month until the tennis season for me! I kinda wanna play mixed doubles, since that is all i have not done..(except for girls singles and doubles which i cant do..lol.)
