lol orion u just stated my worst nightmare...

kat-i've always wondered the same thing.
also, if you get rescinded are you guaranteed the right to appeal, even though the appeal date for those who got traditionally rejected long since passed?

I have no idea. I am pretty sure they allow you to appeal, but that's a long shot to begin with since I hear they rarely accept anyone based on one. Plus, let's say that you get rescinded, appeal, and then get your rejection overturned. You are still not even guaranteed housing so it is just a terrible process.

craaaaaaazy.
in other words, don't slack off!

ucla called me today (finally) to ask for final spring grades. i should be getting a call tomorrow or monday...

Depends on your college rshaan May I ask your cumulative gpa? And in my community college they have somethign called a grade recall or something where the bad grade is taken off your transcript and not counted.

so UCLA usually calls students before they rescind them right?
I hope i get a call so I can explain to them

looking back im afraid i came off as rude, lol. i always approach calls that begin 'hi is this myname_?' as telemarketers.

think UCLA or Cal would rescind if they say they wanted official transcripts by xx date but you actually got them the official copies a few days later? Or what about if you did get them all copies of your official transcripts on time, but the actual IGETC certification came a few days after the deadline?

itchy,

Hhmm who cares? I'm not sure why you would concern yourself with that. Just get them in on time. You have about two months from when grades are posted till transcripts are due. That should be plenty!

Edward,

Some people are on the quarter system..for example i go to de anza and my my last final was on the 27th of June, most of my grades have not yet been posted online..though i placed an order back in May to have my transcript mailed out via priority mail as soon as my spring grades are posted. However, some professor take awhile, so we might not make the deadline.

I think its a bit harsh to rescind admission based on this factor.

^^ thank you.

Yeah ed- my spring grade wasn't even posted until a week ago.

Ah, pardon my ethnocentrism. I'm with bel0ved that it's safe to say it would particularly harsh to rescind people based on that. The one constant I've noticed with every admissions employee I've spoken with is that they are rational and reasonable. I wouldn't sweat it itchy!

I agree with you guys, I also go to deanza and i'm still awaiting a grade for one course because my transcript is sent by priority. I was thinking of picking up the transcript directly from deanza and bringing it to UCSB as a last resort if it doesn't get there in time.

Also, how did you guys take care of your igetc certification? Do I have to wait till my final grades are posted before they can send an IGETC cert?

To get your IGETC Certification, you have to apply in the semester you're going to finish IGETC. If you haven't applied yet, hopefully your school has a "Do-Now" Evaluation, otherwise you'd have to talk to the IGETC Certifier to certify you, and they can be a pain about it sometimes.

Wow, a lot of people seemed to slip up their last semester...I actually had my best semester yet, perhaps because they were mostly classes for my major which i'm deeply interested in.

I'm with you NoMoreWait, I had my best yet (4.0 GPA), but that's because I smartened up and took math for P/NP :D

i always hate myself for not taking classes P/NP.

woulda saved me so much trouble.

I know there's a limit to the amount of units you can take P/NP, but don't admissions look down on people taking several classes P/NP? And I heard that it's not very good for grad school, is this true?

probably. but its surely better to get a P than a C.
