Okay I just sent in mine yesterday and now people are saying Yale extended the SCEA deadline to the 15th. I lost two weeks. Now I am twice as nervoous.

Uh, care to tell us where you heard this? Sounds like a ploy to get people to miss the deadline. Please don't post such a rumor if it's not credible

I read it on CC a bunch of people said they saw it on the website. It might be a mistake. BTW if people don't want to believe it they don't have to. For eample, you don't believe it thats your choice.

it's on the common app website.. it says 11/15, before it said 11/1. i tried calling, but they close at 5. also, on the message at the admissions office, they still say nov 1 is the deadline. there might be an extension, or there might be a (HUGE) glitch. i also emailed Yale and commonapp to see what's goin on.

it's 11/1 unless you live in a hurricane affected area. don't worry.

Thanks for clearing that up filmxoxo

i sent it in.. feels better anyways
so does this mean that we will have to wait longer for the decisions??

We learn December 16. I guess it's two days longer than last year. But not that much. We'll have the weekend to celebrate now :)

where'd you hear that date? (do you mean they say the 17th, which means for us the 16th?)

ooh, also, if i sent in a paper app, would i still be able to check my decision online?

I got the "Important Notice--Please Save" letter from Yale with that date. It says:

"You will be able to learn your admissions decision online. The link to the notification system will be available from our web site: www.yale.edu/admit. You will be asked to provide your Eli account ID and password in order to access the system.
* Online notification dates: December 16th for Early Action, March 30th for Regular Decision."

I don't know what you mean by the 17th so 16th for you, blurblur. Are you in a different country?

He or she means if you will be able to find out the afternoon of the 15th. To answer your question blurblur, I am pretty sure you will be.

Just a quick question~ does anyone know what information you need to provide to check your admission decision online?

i havent applied to yale, but my friend applied to yale ea and got a blue piece of paper with an eli account setup thingy...

i dont live in a hurricane affected area and my deadline on common app has been extended to 15/11..weird, but i sent in my app anyway

hmm how come I haven't received the eli account setup thingy?

I haven't recieved mine either.......... hmmm..

I got my blue Eli letter yesterday 10/29 and I applied for admission on 10/17/05. I would say that you should wait a little over a week for acknowledgement of your application and about two weeks for the Eli/Alumni interview form. Don't get too hasty.

o great... its gonna b sooo nerve wracking to check decisions online!!
is that eli thing emailed to you or sent by mail? i didn't get a thing from yale and I applied on the 15th and sent the rest of my stuff thru DHL..should I b worried or is it takeing them longer to process mine cuz Im international?
and who usually gets "likely letters"? and when do people get them?

i think in the early round likely letters are usually reserved to athletes, although i could be wrong about that.

yeah, basically getting in early is your likely letter. haha. but there are probably some athletes and maybe some really high scoring urms that they try to court by likely letters.
