If you haven't checked the Yale website, the SCEA deadline has been extended to Nov 2 at midnight due to the winter storm.

Yay for procrastinators.

Yay for procrastinators.

The website still reads November first.

Near the top of the page there is a notice that says November 2.

Aah, you seem to be correct. Interesting, since I just submitted my SCEA application a few minutes ago…

A pleasant surprise, it won’t affect my application; but good for those in the northeast who may have lost power.

Jesus, what a relief. XD I’ve gone through a little roller coaster in the last couple of minutes because I submitted my Common App at 12:06 and didn’t know if “by November 1st” meant Oct. 31 at 11:59 or Nov. 1st at 11:59. This is good news. Well, I suppose the website would have refused to send my forms if I had missed the deadline, but whew…

I think the original deadline was Nov 1 at 11:59, or it has been historically according my to my research.

A deadline date always refers to 23:59 on the given date in the local time of the school unless specified otherwise. Thus the new deadline is 11:59 pm ET on Nov. 2.

I don’t think the extension is just for Yale, common app sent like an email to my counselor telling her that all Early application deadlines have been extended!!!

^See the sticky thread on the Admissions forum, some extensions are only for applicants in affected areas.
