Hey guys, the waiting paid off! I'm in :). I didn't get an official appointment because I need to get a waiver (which I just discoverd a few minutes ago that I got). So I think I got a conditional appointment, and a waiver so I'm good to go! Does anyone know if they send the same kind of folder thing the other academies do? Just wondering if I will get confirmation from them that I'm definitley in.

Congratulations! The CGA is a great place as you probably know already. Yes you will get a very nice folder with a picture of the Eagle on the cover, very sharp. Not sure how soon you'll get it but it will come. Great Christmas present for you! Do you plan on playing soccer at the Academy? I know some of the players. Take care and good luck. My son is around if you have any questions.
BTW the CGA has the highest percentage of women in their classes of any of the academies so you won't be alone.

soccer,

Congratulations! Do you have a top choice yet?

USMA is my top choice, CG is close behind though so it is nice to have heard from both. Now the decision making begins!

Congrats soccer1458!!! You didn't tell me you got in to CGA!!! I'm so excited for you!!!

Congratulations Mary! You are gonna have so many choices about where to go, that's awesome!

hey,

I got a call right before Christmas and a letter about a week later.

I got a conditional acceptance, meaning that I must send in a height/weight form and qualify: no big deal, just another thing to add to my endless list. I believe just about everyone got the same letter. i am DoDMERB qualified though.

all you alternates, cheer up, there will be at least one vacancy for you.
-I am most likely going to USMA (loa+nom, waiting for official folder thing).the only thing that may swing my decision is swimming. If I can swim at CGA, I just might, because I would never have a chance at D1 USMA.

I went to AIM and SLS, so I got a taste of both.

the uscga is no joke, aim was tough stuff. if salt is in your blood, go!
(I must have mud pumping through my veins though, so Army it is for me)

Well jrbunz you have a great choice of academies. I am sure you would be able to swim at CGA. They do have a very good DIII program and an excellent head coach. Here is a link to their athletic site where you can check out the team and some of the times for the various events.
Who said anything about CG being a joke? It's as tough as any academy although it's not a "fighting" service. Don't tell any of those rescue swimmers, chopper pilots or cuttermen rescuing Alaskan fishermen they aren't tough!
Good luck on whatever you do.
