Anyone Wanna Switch Dorms?

I got a double in Bauer and I want a single in either Court-Kay-Bauer or Mews ONLY

If interested, please PM me so we can set up a direct switch :)

omg, another example of pre-frosh at their finest.

There's maybe 6 singles in ALL of CKB and Mews together that are your gender.

A) I doubt that one of them would be on CC
B) I doubt they would want to trade.
C) what is the necessity of a single anyways?

maybe a Dickson single would be a more reasonable request.

I was in a situation similar to yours. I had a Kay single, but learned during the housing lottery that I will be living in a Gothic double next year. I eventually met my roommate, who seems pretty nice, and grew more comfortable with the idea of sharing a room. Now I'm kind of looking forward to it. In the past I've had experiences with bad lab partners/******bag co-workers, and while I would not want to go through those things again, I can say that I'm becoming much better at dealing with people like that, and also setbacks in general. So, even if rooming ends up sucking for you, it'll be an opportunity for growth, I think. Or at least looking at it in that light will make things more fun.

I also have a double in Bauer, and so I think it's absolutely presumptuous to want a single in CKB or Mews. So many other people would die just to get a double in CKB or Mews, and here you are complaining about it.

I am really disappointed, and hope that everyone doesn't consider this the typical '12er

On the facebook class of 2012 group, there're people offering cash for a room switch.

people who want to pay for singles are ridiculous

our society has become so self-centered, xenophobic, and introverted it's absolutely ridiculous.

ok.. lets just assume that anyone who prefers to live in a single is self-centered, xenophobic, and introverted. thats a reasonable assumption. haha, excellent, non-narrowminded logic there buddy.

My roommate threatened to kill me last semester. I dont blame you for wanting a single.

@TUOwls2011: Did you report your roommate??

"ok.. lets just assume that anyone who prefers to live in a single is self-centered, xenophobic, and introverted. thats a reasonable assumption. haha, excellent, non-narrowminded logic there buddy."

It was your fault for assuming that I was saying anyone who wants a single is a, b, and c. I was commenting about how sad and pitiful it is that our society has taught people that if they don't get their way they can revert to paying people in order to get what they want.

Everyone prefers to live in a single, but we don't always get what we prefer, and it is a life lesson to actually deal with things we are given.

So next time you pull my words out of context, do it intelligently, please.

kthx :)

I filed a police report that morning.

The people on facebook aren't trying to pay for singles, they're just trying to pay their way into one of the newer dorms in general. I think one person had a double in low rise 7 and wanted to hold a sort of auction for the purchase of a spot in Mews or CourtKayBauer, double or single.

Hey I have a single in Bauer....Whats weird is that I put double for my first preference and got a single, and you apparently got a double when you wanted a single. What the??? Cornell housing is so weird. I also remember seeing a couple of other people on the classof2012 website that wanted doubles but got singles in CKB.

However, I thought about my single, and might actually prefer it. I mean there will probably be interaction between the suitemates right. So its not like I'll be totally secluded. Also FA will cover the difference if I asked for a double and got a single right?

CKB and Mews are newer...but I wouldn't mind Donlon or Dickson considering its more social.

Also theres probably like 6 singles per each floor of CKB and Mews

no it will not, you will still be charged for a single room regardless of what you requested...if you are receiving financial aid, you can submit a financial aid adjustment form which might give you a bit more money (dont know how much more)

If you asked for a double and got a single...you may ask FA for an adjustment in your aid.

If you asked for a single and got a single you cannot ask for an adjustment. I'm really not sure if that's correct...but I read it somewhere. I tend to absorb a lot of info and manipulate it in my head :-)

or how about you try to be more clear? NOVEL IDEA!

omg but really pre-frosh, learn to deal with what you got. no one likes a whiner. ever.

the new norms aren't all that they are cut out to be. mews especially was a really antisocial dorm last year. the happiest people were the ones in dickson and donlon.
