I'm an EBHS Alumni '05.

You will need about a 1400 and 3.6 to safely qualify for Pharmacy at Rutgers. This is a SAFETY guideline. There have been people who were admitted with less, but I would say 1400 and 3.6 at EBHS to safely get in.

Is that 1400 out of 2400???

No, it means 1400 out of 1600. He's from last year when they still had the old SAT's.

Hahahaha. It's amusing to me when people get confused with SAT scores. I would have thought that it would be obvious that a 1400 out of 2400 would NOT qualify you for Pharmacy....but apparently I was wrong.
Regardless, best of luck to all of you. I don't know how Rutgers is going to handle the new SAT scoring.

Very True. I don't even know what was I thinking asking the question. I was just making sure.

my stats:
SAT Verbal: 750
SAT Math: 740
SAT Writing: 790
SAT IIs: Bio-690 History-780
GPA weighted: 4.3
Rank: 8/320?
APs: bio-4 history-4 gov-5 calc ab-5

in-state
applied 10/29/05 admitted 11/12/05

my friend got in w/a 1360 but she applied in early october.

Don't be discouraged if you don't have a 1400.
FRIEND #1 - 4.3w, 1200, lots of ECs (100+ volunteering), NJ, URM
FRIEND #2 - top 5% (I think she wuz top 10 when she applied tho), 1290, lots of ECs, NJ

If you think its difficult getting into pharmacy, then you are mistaken. It is difficult staying in. Only 33% of the students make it to graduation day with a license. Typically, students with lower stats will have a harder time keeping up in throughout the program. If you got it, the fight is nowhere near over.

why is it so hard? is it the chem? are you in it now? heh.. im scared.

I know several people who have been through the program and who are in it currently. Basically if you study you will do good. The program is very science heavy and science is a lot of memorization. Try to take AP Chem is HS so that Chem 1 freshman year is just a review and try to take calc so that you can either place out of it or get an easy A. Yeah its true that a lot of people dont make it, but those are the people who dont have their priorities straight. Just keep thinking about graduating and how great it will be and dont lose sight of your goals. This is where you realize that the program isnt as hard as its cracked up to be. Surely is hard, i will never deny that... but if you are dedicated enough and have good studying habits you WILL make it.

Many of the people who drop out do so because they aren't dedicated enough. I'm sure that if you put a lot of effort into your studies, there is no way you would get kicked out.

+1 and emphasis on the memorization part.

Personally, I dislike memorization, but it is a necessary evil. I'm doing a engineering minor. They won't give you a minor, but that doesn't mean that you can't take the classes as a prereq for any further graduate engineering work.
