Guys, what did you feel about the test?
cause, after writing , I felt I'd get anywhere from 2250-2400 on the test. But I got only 2050.
When I checked with friends, I got 0 mistakes in math, 1 in writing and 3 in CR.I was expecting essay score of ~10-11(topic was weird). I ended up getting 2 mistakes in math, 10 in CR and 4 in writing(essay-8).
I cannot believe what is happening!!!!!
But irony is that I still beat 94% of people nationally. So do colleges look at score(2050) or at curve???
Any Help?>?

They look at your individual scores and composite. The curve is set so that a 2050 for one administration will be at the same percentile as another’s, so colleges will already know approximately where you stand relative to everyone else. A 2050 is more than good enough for most colleges.

quiverfox, when did you take the make-up?

momof2ky,I took the test Just on 20th of October 2012.

Oscarlany, I hope they match HYPSM, especially because after reading many posts I heard that SAT’s don’t matter (THAT) MUCH <>I have good EC’s though! I hope they look holistically! Also how do I rate if I stand at 6-7% in my country(I know i needed more, that is why I am disappointed)

For HYPSM, you could have an sat score in the top .1% and still get rejected. People who get accepted to those schools are usually well within the top 1% of students in the world (overall, not just for sat scores). Would it be possible for you to retake it in December or even January? Because even though your scores aren’t the only part of your application, they still matter. Like I mentioned earlier, your scores are good enough for most schools but on the low side for the very top. Unless you have amazing stats/activities or just something that’s extraordinary, your scores could hurt your chances for HYPMS. If possible you should try shooting for a ~2150
