Anyone with HOTMAIL get an e-mail?

So it seems that a lot of people with hotmail are reporting to not have gotten an admission decision e-mail from Harvard. Did anyone at all with hotmail get an e-mail? Or did every single applicant with hotmail get no response?

And what are you going to do about this situation? Harvard admission office may be closed tomorrow, and even if they are opened, they might say that we have to wait for the letter. Or maybe they can resend e-mails to hotmail users in smaller batches?

I didn’t get an email. I believe we have to call tomorrow and ask for our decision over the phone.

No, I have not received one and I firmly believe that Hotmail users will ultimately not obtain one. I will call the Office of Admission tomorrow during school (617-495-1551) to inquire.

Unfortunately, Harvard will not resend emails.

Glad I checked this forum… I didn’t get an e-mail on my hotmail account either. Disappointing.

look in your junk folder

I am also a Hotmail user who did not receive an email.
Are we supposed to call in tomorrow, then? Or should we just wait for envelopes to arrive via mail?

I’ve checked my junk folder over and over again. pualalala, do you have hotmail? If yes, did you get an e-mail that was sent to your junk folder?

Getting my admission decision over the phone will definitely not be enjoyable, but I’d definitely choose that over waiting for a letter to arrive in the mail.

I would call for the sake of learning your decision sooner (617-495-1551).

Not as personally satisfying, but yes, I agree.

vulpix, it’s really up to you. Word is that you can call admissions starting at 9 AM and they will release information. If you’d rather wait for the letter then that’s your choice.

“Getting my admission decision over the phone will definitely not be enjoyable, but I’d definitely choose that over waiting for a letter to arrive in the mail.”

Haha that’s what I was thinking- what an awkward conversation it will be! Will they just read the letters out loud?
“Dear (insert name here),
We are sorry to inform you that due to the extraordinarily high number of qualified applicants this year…”
“Oh… uh… you can stop there. Thanks. No, really, it’s all right…”

Anyone know a hotmail user who DID receive an e-mail from Harvard?

I have hotmail. It should be in junk.

HAHAHA ok Vulpix I laughed out really loud after reading that. That would be hilarious

“vulpix, it’s really up to you. Word is that you can call admissions starting at 9 AM and they will release information. If you’d rather wait for the letter then that’s your choice.”

All right, thanks! And thanks for posting the number, mifune!
I’m on the west coast, so I think I’ll sleep in a little to (hopefully) avoid some epic hold times…

apHELP, did you apply to Harvard and receive an admission decision e-mail from them that was sent to your junk folder?

I have hotmail. It’s not in junk. Or in the inbox for that matter.

^^Correct.

Ok, so now we know that some hotmail users did receive admission decisions.

Can I ask what junk e-mail filter you have running? Low, standard, or exclusive?

Also, can I ask what decision you received?

Rejected. Exclusive, almost all of my mail goes in junk.
