WAIT! it says UCSD: nov 15?!! I thought they were not even going to release their tag decisions?!

@annashlynn: You REALLY ARE Great!
But what are you saying … are you saying that Santa Barbara will LET US KNOW TODAY??? YIPEPEPEPEEEE!!! Are you serious?

is Ohlone College Transfer Center credible?

Wait I thought SD and SB weren’t releasing them?

Don’t get your hopes up too high ><

Ive got all INFORMATION!

I just got off the phone with

UC IRIVNE
UC SANTA BARBARA
UC SAN DIEGO

And they ALL said they wont be letting applicants know until March/April.

THAT INFORMATION IS CORRECT AS I JUST FINISHED SPEAKING WITH THEM!

Thanks for calling. That makes sense with what everyone else was told.

Dear …

Thank you for submitting a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) to UC Santa Barbara for fall 2011.
You will be notified of your TAG and official admit status between March 15th and May 1st. We are
pleased that you’re considering joining our community of academic scholars and want to take this
opportunity to remind you of some important information regarding your transition to the university.

First, although you have submitted a TAG application, you must also file an application for
admission to UCSB for the fall 2011 term during the UC application filing period of November 1-30th.
If you have not already begun working on the application, it is available at
www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply.

You will receive an email confirming receipt of your UC admission application in December. It is
important that you respond to all inquires and requests for updated information to ensure your
application moves as quickly as possible through the evaluation process.

Next, make sure you complete any remaining requirements for the UCSB Transfer Admission Guarantee.
Assuming you meet all conditions, your admission to the University is guaranteed. If for any reason,
you are unable to meet the conditions; an offer of admission will depend on your completion of
transfer admission requirements and competitiveness in the applicant pool. Students who do not meet
all TAG criteria may still be competitive for admission to UCSB.

As a transfer student, your goal should be to complete your degree and graduate within two
years. For that reason, it is vital that you learn about your major early on and complete as many
lower division preparation courses as possible prior to transfer. Information about major
preparation can be found at [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org). You may also wish to come to campus for a guided tour.
Tours of UCSB are offered Monday-Friday at noon and 2 p.m. More information about visiting campus
can be found at www.admissions.ucsb.edu/VisitUCSB.

UCSB has much to offer you, and we look forward to your becoming a part of our vital educational
community. We look forward to seeing you in fall 2011!

^ I recieved that too!! Honestly gave me a mini heart because I thought they posted the decisions lol… oh well. Iam still waiting on Davis!

lame, ucsb sent us a message about thanking us (for the 3rd time) …why can’t you send us word now!!!

So, I got a response from UCSB. As others have mentioned, they didn’t actually send a decision. It is just a note saying that I need to apply and will be notified in March/April of their decision.

SO. LAME. >_<

Won’t this just increase the flood of applications?? If people knew if they were tagged into their first choice school, they wouldn’t have to apply to the others. It doesn’t make sense!

@ cici
lol I know same thing here.

So the message UCSD sent out does point out the fact that we filled out TAG. Maybe they will wait until spring to make decisions just to make sure you’ve gone through with all the requirements and maintained your GPA. Idk, I hope filling out TAG has some benefit.

UCSB (typo) didnt mean UCSD

I dunno why they do this.

If they fill up their entire admissions pool with UC TAG students, so be it.

UCSB, UCSD, and UCI just want your money!

$60 X 5000 applicants = $300,000 - overhead = $ profit

i just got mine for UCSB… decline :frowning: but i don’t know why
i hv a 3.5 GPA and I’m done with the tag thing…

It’s a business people. THe UC’s are desperate for money… guess who’s paying…US. Notice how “Admissions” people always try to con you into applying (most time knowing that you really don’t qualify - however - they need your $60.00).

This is why we have to do all the work ourselves and figure out what classes we need, requirements, etc.

did yours say rejected? can you post the rejection letter? mine just said it would be posted march 15th to may 1st

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for submitting a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) application to UCSB for fall 2011. We are pleased that you’re considering joining our community of academic scholars and want to take this opportunity to remind you of some important information regarding your transition to the university.

It appears from your application that you may be ineligible to participate in TAG; however, students who do not meet all TAG criteria may still be competitive for admission to UCSB. An offer of admission will depend upon completion of transfer admission requirements and your competitiveness in the applicant pool. We recognize there may be a number of reasons why students may appear to be ineligible based on self-reported data. Once your admission application has been received along with your application update in January, UCSB will conduct a thorough evaluation to determine your eligibility for TAG. If eligible, you’ll be admitted for fall 2011.

You are encouraged to submit an application to UCSB for the fall 2011 term during the UC application filing period of November 1-30th. The admission application is available at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply. UC Santa Barbara

I want to know why I got rejected… how do i contact UCSB admission office?

You didnt even get rejected, read the paragraph it says… IT APPEARS YOU MAY BE INELIGIBLE(not YOU ARE INELIGIBLE), they then state that they understand you might seem ineligible based off self reported data, therefore once youre regular application is submitted they will evaluate all info and then determine whether or not you are eligible for tag.
