right… I haven’t read the whole thing.
thanks for letting me know.

Dear ####,

Thank you for submitting a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) to UC Santa Barbara for fall 2011.
You will be notified of your TAG and official admit status between March 15th and May 1st. We are
pleased that youre considering joining our community of academic scholars and want to take this
opportunity to remind you of some important information regarding your transition to the university.

First, although you have submitted a TAG application, you must also file an application for
admission to UCSB for the fall 2011 term during the UC application filing period of November 1-30th.
If you have not already begun working on the application, it is available at
www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply.

You will receive an email confirming receipt of your UC admission application in December. It is
important that you respond to all inquires and requests for updated information to ensure your
application moves as quickly as possible through the evaluation process.

Next, make sure you complete any remaining requirements for the UCSB Transfer Admission Guarantee.
Assuming you meet all conditions, your admission to the University is guaranteed. If for any reason,
you are unable to meet the conditions; an offer of admission will depend on your completion of
transfer admission requirements and competitiveness in the applicant pool. Students who do not meet
all TAG criteria may still be competitive for admission to UCSB.

As a transfer student, your goal should be to complete your degree and graduate within two
years. For that reason, it is vital that you learn about your major early on and complete as many
lower division preparation courses as possible prior to transfer. Information about major
preparation can be found at [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org). You may also wish to come to campus for a guided tour.
Tours of UCSB are offered Monday-Friday at noon and 2 p.m. More information about visiting campus
can be found at www.admissions.ucsb.edu/VisitUCSB.

UCSB has much to offer you, and we look forward to your becoming a part of our vital educational
community. We look forward to seeing you in fall 2011!

Okay, even though SB didn’t really say if you’re in, they kind of DID.

There’s a separate message for people who aren’t eligible for TAG so if you are eligible, then basically make sure you stay on the right route and get your crap done and you’re in. If you don’t, you’ll have to apply just like everyone else.

I don’t know, seems pretty straightforward sort of?

It is kind of weird how they have two different prompts to send to people though. @dominicfhk, maybe you should give admissions a call and ask if there are any problems with the app and if so, you/they can fix them.

I have the same message dash got. shrug This is good :)

spoke with a davis rep and said they’ll be releasing TAG decisions by the end of this week.

My birthday is in March. I’m just going to ask for an acceptance letter from my top choice schools as a b-day present. Forget the $10 and a card from grandma haha

I was approved by UCR last Friday, and I also got the notice from UCSB. I’m bummed that UCSB, UCSD, and UCI aren’t releasing any approvals for TAG. Oh well. I’m trying to keep from stressing. Must focus on the work I’m doing at the school I’m already at. Easier said than done.

Im confused. it says assuming i finish the remaining requirement= remaining classes i need to take, then i get guaranteed admission?
God. why cant they just tell us straight out if we’re accepted or not? :l

I got the same message from SB.

To me the content of the message only delivers 4 words:

“Decision not made. Wait !”

How nice…

It’s interesting that they have two different letters. Seems to me they hinted at a decision.

I just checked my email. UCSB didn’t send me the letter you all receive regarding decision release date. But I did get the email telling me to apply…><

Do you guys not see this part of the response?

^yeah that pretty much tells me im in. however, i still had a heart attack trying to sift through the other useless stuff they said

dlogsr: Yep. Looks like we’re in if we got that message, of course assuming we finish everything.

ohhhhh I got it~so i’m in??OMGGGG

I had to report what classes ill be taking in spring to UCR and they sent me an email with an implied acceptance such as the one some of you are receiving from SB, I got accepted, so I’m guessing those are acceptances also. I wish I was eligible for SB tag, I slacked it up on math & englsh requirements : /

so no ones tag status for SB straight out said…congratulations you’re guaranteed etc etc?

yeah i wonder if anyone got denied? my friend and I got the same thing. I dont want to get my hopes up though

People got different letters that said they were ineligible.

This is the thing that always confuses me about the TAG. It’s guaranteed, but then I wonder what the situations are of those students who for some reason end up being declined come April/May? Can anybody shed any light on that? I’ve been admitted to SDSU for the spring, but my thought was if I had guaranteed admission to UCSD, I would pass it up. I’d be really upset if I found out I wasn’t actually guaranteed.
