Anyone's TAG get approved yet? Oct 15 is earliest date right??

What does it all mean?..

@AF1990: I think as long as you didn’t get the letter that says “you didn’t meet some of our TAG requirements blah blah”, you are guaranteed? Because, if not, there’s no reason for sending 2 different messages.

Okay, I JUST realized I made a HUGE mistake on my TAG app, but I got this message from Irvine:

"Dear --------- ,

UC Irvine has received your submitted TAG form for fall 2011 transfer admission. We now look
forward to receiving your University of California transfer application during the November 1 - 30
application period. Apply at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply

When applying, please indicate your TAG eligibility on the UC transfer application and remember that
your transfer admission guarantee is only applicable to the major you indicated on your TAG form.

In the coming months, UC Irvine’s Office of Admissions will conduct a priority evaluation of your UC
transfer application. It is important to remember that in order to maintain your transfer admission
guarantee you must meet the following conditions as well:

Remain in good academic standing at all institutions
- maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA by the end of spring 2011
- achieve a minimum 2.0 spring term 2011 GPA

Complete the second transferable English composition course with a C grade or better by
the end of spring 2011

Complete 60 semester/90 quarter UC-transferable units by the end of spring 2011

Complete any and all major prerequisites by spring 2011

Complete your Academic Update Request in January 2011 where you will submit fall term
grades and spring course changes

Complete any other minimum UC transfer admission requirements

Thank you for utilizing UC Irvine’s online TAG process. Best wishes on reaching your educational
goals.

Does that mean I got it? And should I contact them and tell them about the mistake I made? It’s not going to change much, I just made a mistake regarding when I took a quarter. My GPA, credits, and all that stuff will still be the same.

@isus39: what mistake is that?

I think UCSD will also have an ambiguous response

if you look on the application all the tags that dont say “check only if you have an approved decision” are the ones that send ambiguous responses

@isus39: I made a minor mistake on my app but the counselors told me they care more about errors made on grades you have already received and quarters completed. Mine was for an in progress course so it didn’t really matter.

So you might have to tell them? But I even contacted Irvine about my minor mistake and they said so long as its okay on the UC app I should be good.

I got the same vague message from UCI, though I noticed it said to check the box for TAG eligibility on your application. Why else would they tell you to put that if we didnt meet the requirement?
Any who, I have been on my application and for some reason I cannot figure out where they are talking about on my application! I just went through every page of my application and could not find where you indicate your TAG agreements. Sigh. I think I just need a day where the word “application” or “acceptance” isn’t mentioned. Or I will be adding “where is a gun” to my vocabulary soon.

@rshie002 I don’t remember the Irvine tag saying something about multiple colleges. Can you send me a link or something where it says that? Maybe thats why I was denied :frowning: I attend two community colleges. But I was enrolled in a 4-year for a semester before entering CC…;[

@dezziner

How did you contact them?

Thanks!

Yo everyone stop worrying! If you got the good message, I’m SURE we are in, AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO WORK HARD AND MEET THE REQUIREMENTS!

UC SANTA BARBARA: “Assuming you meet all conditions, your admission to the University is guaranteed.”

UC IRVINE: "It is important to remember that in order to maintain your transfer admission
guarantee you must meet the following conditions as well:

THEY BOTH SAY WERE GUARANTEED AS LONG AS WE KEEP ON THE PATH WE’VE BEEN ON ALL ALONG

SO STOP WORRYING!! FINISH OFF OUR LAST YEAR AT COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND PREPARE TO TRANSFER!!! CONGRATS TO ALL OF US! :D

@ WingedYoshi =/ you cannot be tagged if you’ve previously attended a non-UC 4-year university, but you ARE allowed to attend more than 1 community college.

I got the same message from UCI! Looks like I might have a spot waiting for me as long as I keep my focus! :D

@WingedYoshi

http://www.admissions.uci.edu/pdf/TAG_brochure_fall2011.pdf</a></p>

Davis and UCSD is still under review for me. I heard we’ll get answer nov. 15th?

sjunction - ucsd is not releasing decisions this year

They said that about UCIrvine and UCSB too and yet I got the ambiguous UCSB response and a flat out denial to UCIrvine.

^ word. Yea some people called and said that SD wasn’t going to release the info, seeing all those emails coming out on the dates specified, I’m more inclined to wait for SD’s email :D

I asked a ucsd rep and she said that ucsd is releasing their response by November 15… Not decisions like ucr but responses haha

Do you guys think Davis will send out straight decisions? I thought the only ones doing that for sure were sb and sd

@annashlynn - thanks for the clarification on the uc eligibility thing!

so i’m kinda confused… complete any and all major prerequisites by spring 2011? is this for all the uc’s or just irvine? cuz i’m going for la, sb, and i, but i’m missing one each for sb and i (am eligible for their tag though). i’m pretty sure my counselor said it doesn’t matter? i mean except to be more competitive (i’ll have la done by spring).
