Irvine’s response was not as bad as Santa Barbara.hope that Davis,Merced,San Diego,and Santa Cruz have a more definite answer.

I have a feeling Davis and Merced are going to send out letters that are going to have a defnite answer… but again its just a hunch… Hopefully we’ll find out on friday! :)

I got tagged in to irvine as well! Good job guys!

I will be done with all prerequisites for irvine by spring but i think i will be missing less than half of my prerequisites for SD and SB like aninstance. Do i have to finish all major prerequisites for SD as well? I mean is calc a major prereq, but i didnt state that i was gonna take it at my CC. I’m a psych major btw, and I will be finishing my prereqs for irvine and LA by spring.

Got this from UCI. Does it mean I’m in?

^ i received the same letter too.

I got the same message but this does not make sense to me because i have a 2.96 UC GPA and the major i put down for TAG was BIO. I don’t know whether to be happy or confused.

Is this real life?

Hey lbc,

I think there is an technical error in the UCI computer because I asked UCI counselor about if I have attended another UC (attended UCD), will I still be able to qualify for a TAG. She said yes as long as you are attending a CC right now and in Spring… SO… ***? I am going to call in tomorrow to check this out cause I got the ambiguous acceptance letter too from UCSB. Lets be honest, UCI is not close to being superior to UCSB. hahah… they’re tripping if they think they are…

the *** is censor for" what the funny" (not funny but the f-word)… lol ok

could this be why @itzcaroll

people who are eligible
-has completed the last 30 semester or 45 quarter UC-transferable units by the end of summer 2010 for fall 2011 admission at one or more California commu- nity colleges, excluding AP/IB credit;
-has been enrolled at one or more California community colleges for at least two terms, excluding summer sessions;

people who are not eligible
-has any coursework from a four-year college/university (exception: coursework completed at a UC in good stand- ing);
-has any coursework from an out-of-state college/univer- sity;
-has any foreign/international coursework;

do you see the exception part “(exception: coursework completed at a UC in good stand-ing);”

I have fulfilled the eligibility requirements because I went to UCD two years ago…

i also got the same letter from UCI too! YAY i think it’s the good letter!

@itzcaroll

I don’t know your school history, I wasn’t trying to say you weren’t in good standing, just trying to help.

It’s copied and pasted from the UCI tag pdf that is linked on the tag application.

How many semesters have you been at cc now? are any of them summer?

People who are not eligible:
-has any coursework from an out-of-state college/univer- sity;

Is this just for UCI? I don’t remember seeing it on the UCSD tag eligibility.

No, I know you are trying but I was just pointing out that I cannot see any clear reason why UCI denied my TAG. I know all of the 4 UCs (that I am applying to) requirements and made sure my coursework complied.

If you include this coming spring semester (4 semesters and 1 summer) at CC.

did u finish ur english and math transferable classes by summer 2010? uci tag is more strict than the others. I didnt apply to them because im doing my math class this fall.

@twistnswif-- Actually, I applied for tag just for the heck of it and got that same, vague message given by UCI (meaning instead of receiving a message saying I was ineligible, it stated to just follow through with the requirements). The thing is, I’m taking my first math class now, in the fall…but I also just dropped my calc class so stats will temporarily fill in as my math requirement (does anyone know how affected I’ll be because of this?). Current gpa is 3.09 as well.

@roadrunner

Im pretty sure UCI UCSB and UCSD are doing this “response” crap. the rest should be real decisions… i hope.

@ pianocat

I’ve asked my counselor about this before because i have a 3.0 gpa as of now but for the UCSB requirement is to have a 3.2 by the end of fall 2010 (i got the vague message for UCSB like many others on here, but not the one that said I was ineligible). He told me that if your current gpa is not too far away from the minimum gpa requirement the UCs will assume that you can reach the minimum gpa and fulfill that requirement. That is why in the email it says to maintain your transfer guarantee requirement you need to follow the conditions listed below. So in your case I think if you fulfill all those requirements then you are probably in! You can also check with your counselor as well

haha sorry guys that was me who said davis tags were coming out… i meant irvine :s it was late and i was tired

sorry for the confusion…

@zambonibecky… yes that condition applies to UCI. they do not accept TAG for students who have attended a four year college prior to their community college.

UCD UCSD and UCSB don’t have that condition (not sure about UCM, UCR, or UCSC)
