AP 3D Design vs. AP Environmental Science

Currently a junior. Next year as a senior I plan on taking AP Lit, AP BC Calc, AP Econ, AP Computer Programming 2. I plan to take another AP class as well but I am undecided between AP 3D Design (pretty much ceramics) and AP Environmental Science. I would rather take AP 3D as I enjoy the class. However, I haven’t taken an AP science (I have taken hon bio, hon chem, hon physics) and I know that AP Environmental Science is rather easy. Would it hurt me if I was to take AP 3D over APES?

Someone please help

My son is taking APES now and it’s not an easy class, at least at our school. My feeling is that you should take the AP that inspires you, but I am not someone who is looking to the Ivy League.

APES will definitely be harder, and 3D will be a nice relaxing class to relieve stress. How many science credits do you have? Check how many are recommended for schools you’re interested in. You don’t want to not get into a school you love because you took the wrong class. Don’t take apes just because you haven’t taken an AP science. Generally, 4 credits in each core subject is good, but I still want to encourage you to do ceramics if you really want to.

Also, if your colleges want you to have an art course (e.g. CA and SD publics), the ceramics course may help if you do not have any other.

If you are going STEM do APES otherwise do what you like.
