Just came up with a crazy idea (maybe?). I am in U.S. History (NOT Ap) right now with the hardest teacher, many people compare her regular class as being almost the same as her AP class.. For her tests, she takes AP questions and modifies them for only 4 answers and my frined has been using an AP prep book to study and says we basically learn all of the info in it. So my question is, is there a point in me trying to take the AP test (for college credit?) or will i just be wasting my time

I would definitely go for it, but it is xpensive and u mite want to talk to ur couselor first

Go ahead and take it. A lot of people take exams without a course and do fine. You’re taking American History already, so you’ll just be ahead of the curve.

At my school, AP and Honors are definitely equal with some classes. In fact, 12th grade English classes are combined, so there are some Honors and some AP kids in every single one of the English classes. My AP US taught both Honors and AP the same way last year.

APUSH is one of the easiest AP’s IMO, so it really shouldn’t be much trouble at all for you to do well on it. Realistically, though you need to make sure you get the social history. I know that the sole difference at my school between AP and Honors is that AP harps for weeks on social history, while Honors focuses on traditional stuff, like military and politics, etc… So as long as you can get that down, you should be good to go.

APUSH is just memorization. If you study AMSCO you’ll be fine for sure.

Don’t forgot being able to do the Free response essays!

I know at my school at least the Honors classes teach only from Reconstruction to Present Day. Only the APUSH classes go from Pre-Colombian all the way to Present Day so, if you’re school is like mine, you’d be at a pretty huge disadvantage from not learning what’s on half the test. But if you think you can pass it, I’d day do it. I’m gonna take the AP Lang exam even though I, stupidly, didn’t take the exam.
