AP and SAT II history

Im taking the AP US history test in may. Since im taking that would it be a waste to take the SAT II US history?

uhh what?

i don't think you understand the tests.

ap test - college credit
sat II- for college admission

they are independent of each other; take both if you want to.

It's actually beneficial to take both at the same time. The AP curriculum tends to cover broad concepts and overlying themes in US History. That is excellent for the FRQs but fails to adequately prepare a test taker for the Multiple Choice, which oftentimes may look to test a student's performance on an obscure part of history. This is where studying for the SAT II will help. The SAT II USH, in my opinion, goes deeper than the AP test MC, and will definitely be able to boost your chances of getting a 5 in APUSH. Had I known this earlier, I would've taken the SAT II in May and aimed for an 800 >_>;;

Yeah you should take both in case you don't do well on the AP exam you might get a good score for the SAT II fwiw.

take both, and take them both in may.
i took the US SAT 2 the DAY AFTER my AP US test... and got an insanely high score. which i KNOW i would not have gotten had it not been for the AP exam. some of the questions were eerily similar to the AP MC questions. i mean, how much US history is there in the first place? it's bound to overlap.
kill 2 birds with one stone... can't hurt! xD

Take them both in May. I took the SAT 2 in June and I forgot half the stuff I learned since I finished school about 2 weeks before SATs. Take it when the material is fresh on your mind.

Lol yeah, I took it in October, and I actually had to study for it since I forgot some of the material. Still hit a 780, but I'm a history buff so if I took it in May I might have hit 800 =/

My friends who took the US History AP test all scored in the high 700s on the SAT 2 test. Some were people who do worse then me in class....

It's always beneficial to take the SAT test with the AP test. After an AP, SATII's are insultingly easy.

I took the Bio SATII a month after the AP test, scored an 800 and a 5.
Took the USH SATII day after the AP, scored a 750 and a 5.

take the us sat II
i took it the day after the AP and they shared some questions.

btw i got a 5 and a 730

Yup, definitely take the tests together in May.

The AP test made the SAT II sooo much easier!

I also got a 5 and a 730
