AP Art History doesn't satisfy IGETC "Arts & Humanities" requirement?

I took AP Art History in high school and scored a 4 on the exam...but someone in the counseling department at my CC told me that it can't pass for credit.

Has anyone taken this same AP and successfully been able to use it for IGETC Credit? (For Area 3 - Arts & Humanities requirement)

It counted for me. Well, I took Art History at the college level, so it counted for me. I’m not sure if the AP credit will count for the same 3 units. Doubt it though. A high school course is not usually considered equal to a college course, no matter how AP it is. You can thank the evolution of something called “grade inflation” meaning teachers at 12th grade and below inflate grades to look good, and get grants from the district. Colleges don’t do that because they are not on a reward based system.
