AP Art History?

Is this a visual performance art class or satisfy the visual performance art requirement for UCs?

Also UCs require at least 1 year of visual performance art, but since our transcript goes up to the first half of senior year, is it too late to start on visual performance art in senior year?

And how is the difficulty of this class? And how difficult is it to self study this course?

i don't know about self studying, but I personally think this class is pretty hard.

Yeah dude, you need a teacher with a big slide projection book... I mean, you could go ahead and read every wikipedia article ever on art, but that'd be tough.

no, its not too late to take the VAPA course senior year.

btw: the UC app only shows grades thru Jr year, but the readers will look at the strength of your senior schedule.

so is AP Art History VPA?

so since the readers see my senior schedule, and if I have VPA in my schedule, they will count that as 1 year right?

bump..........

It depends on what kind of background you have in the Arts.

For example, I'm considering self studying Art History because 1) it's really interesting and 2) last year I took an "Honors Humanities" course (Honors English course for Sophmores) and the course was primarily about the Arts/Religions/Etc from Ancient Times to Modern Times. We covered a lot of the Art and Art periods that are covered in AP Art History so I have a pretty solid background.

Of course if you have no background at all in AP Art History, I definitely would recommend against attempting to self study it.

I am currently taking AP Art History without any background of art. Infact, I use to hate art and considered it useless before i took this course. As you study this course, you start to think it is interesting. Basically you need to do alot of reading. I reccomend Gardners 12th edition. Read and understand everything carefully, and you are all set.
