I'm planning to self study AP Art History over the summer and I was wondering if it is a hard class or not. I'm very intrested in art, however have no artistic skills. Also, is the AP exam hard??

You don't need to have artistic skills.

I heard that the exam was hard, but it's relatively new; I think the AP Art History exam was first offered in 2005.

Are you taking it on FLVS?

ya.. flvs has a really good reputation from what I hear

are you taking a class, or studying it yourself?
my school doesn't offer the course, and i was going to study it independently.. but i didn't have enough time.

good luck with it, and let me know how it goes! and which texts you are using, etc..

^^ thanks! It's like a real class just online. I don't know EVERYTHING yet because I start in june and end in december I think, but I will find everything out hopefully. I just need to know about the difficulty of the class lol.

My sister took AP Art History a while back. Her textbook was about twice the size of Harry Potter 5, and apparently she spent a lot of time studying for it. (She still got a 5...but it was a hard course)

thanks fizix for a very straight up answer!

you're welcome. :D
(but also keep in mind she went to a private school with a ton of work where their honors classes use AP textbooks.)

^^^ um....wow...no wonder she got a 5 on the AP eam lol...they probably used college textbooks

My AP art history textbook is over 1000 pages with about 2500ish pieces of artwork. It's a lot of hard work and memorization, but just study carefully and do lots of review. You can't possibly cram for this test.
