AP Art + Portfolios

I was wondering if any of you parents have had experience with this...

I'm away at college right now, so I haven't seen the mail that's been at my house.

I had taken AP Art my senior year and created a portfolio that was supposed to be mailed back to me when they were done grading...

Instead, I received a 100 dollar check because they 'lost/damaged my portfolio'. I'm just wondering but like, do you guys think I could get any more than 100 dollars from them? It's kind of a small amount, I had 5 full sized matted pictures, and then like 24 slides. I guess I should be grateful that they even gave me money, but still I really was wanting that art back.

wow. I got my portfolio back safely, but if I'd heard your story before I got it back I would have been very nervous...

I think you should contact them and find out more information. If it was just "damaged" and not lost, ask if you can have what is left of it back. If it was indeed lost, tell them that slides are very expensive and the materials you used for the actual works are too, etc. Definitely try to get more money from them. You PAID to submit it, afterall, they owe you!

not that i don't agree with you, but technically, didn't it say that matting one's work was not necessary and that our slides wouldn't be returned (even though they were... go figure)?

that's really too bad about the portfolio, though. i'd be pretty unsettled with only a $100 check.
