So I'm a Junior taking AP Language, AP Psych, and self-studying AP Env. Sci and AP Human Geo. Next year I'm taking AP Art History, Bio, Calc BC, and Econ. I wanted to minor in some sort of Art in college cuz i have a really strong passion for it. My school doesn't offer AP Studio Art so i was wondering if it would be a good idea to self-study it (just complete all the art pieces on my own time).

Although my art teachers aren't teaching the course I'm sure that they'll let me use their materials and allow me to stay after school with them for help.

I don't know much about the class other than the fact that I have to hand in 3 portfolios for 2-D, Drawing, and 3-D. Do you guys think i'll have time to complete all 3 by next year's AP Exams?

I'm currently taking 3-d, and from my experience, there's no way. It's the hardest, most confusing class I've had. And why would you hand in three portfolios? Are you trying to do all three Studio courses at once? Because just one means 24 separate pieces.

there is no way. you can't repeat the art work you use in the three portfolios( that would be considered cheating), which means you have to have over 60 orginal art piece!!!

2d or drawing portfolio consist of:
breath section
concentration (12)
2d or drawing portfolio
quality ( 4 pieces in your porfolio that you actually send in)

so basically
you must be extremely tenacious in doing art ( get those concentration done on time) and have already accumulated a large amount of art work.
i suggest you just do 1 this year.. 2 is almost an impossible tastk. art requires a lot of time ernergy and patience.
