Ap Awards

Son received his in Virginia today.

I got it today as well (NY), dated 9/26. But I have a question... if the common app already gives you a space to put your AP scores, shouldn't the college already figure that you got the AP award? Don't want to be redundant...

It's still a good idea to separately mention the AP scholar award, whatever it is, on the Common Application and on other college application forms.

Utah, at least where I live, got it today.

NY, not yet received

got it today in NY (Long Island)

My S hasn't received it yet in CA.

if i average 4.8 with 5 subjects, and someone else averages 4.75 with 12 subjects, who will get the international scholar award?

just got mine today(VA)

Baseliner, the person with 12 AP's would get the award

This mailing award has no pattern. So some east coast got them and Utah got them?

But, isn't my average higher?
On what basis do they give the international award?

Son received his in Kentucky yesterday (National AP Scholar).

Got mine today in Florida; AP Scholar at the start of my Junior year.

I wonder if senior year AP's count.

I'm using my AP Award for revenge. Pure revenge. Pure revenge, after eight long and hard years. :)

Nothing received yet for daughter in PA.

"But, isn't my average higher?
On what basis do they give the international award?"

Your average is only high because you took so few tests. If the guy that took the 12 tests had stopped at 5 tests, I am pretty sure he would have had a 5 average. Anyways, 5 tests with a 4.8 average is nothing special.

I think they give the award on who ever takes the most tests with the highest average.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but some people, don't ask me how, take more than 20 AP tests. Those are the ones that get the highest awards. Remember that to sit for the AP test you don't have to take the class.

do/can senior APs count for the Scholar Awards?
