Hey guys... I was thinking of taking AP Bio and AP EnviSci during the same school year. I was just wondering how difficult this would be. Has anyone done this before? Do the courses conflict with eachother? Would it be too much information or would they sort of complement eachother? I'd be doing AP Bio at school and APES online. Thanks in advance! ;)

its not bad.....i took bio and selfed apes

I was also thinking of doing AP Chem and AP EnviSci concurrently.

But I don't want to major in anything math/science related.

I kinda just want the APs... b/c my school dropped all the humanties ones... :(

Think that's okay?

*Also I've heard APES is looked upon as an "easy AP" kinda like AP Stats is an "easy AP" for math. Is this true?
'Cause I have to take Stats cause I already took Calc AB and can't take BC at my school. :(

Stupid stupid HS...

Bump... :)

Anyone else? I know there has to be quite a bit of people that have had both or can at least compare both classes.

Took AP Chem and APES together, both as courses at my school. My APES teacher wasn't all too great [to say the very least - it was his first year, and we watched movies literally every day], so it was basically self-study. APES was an easy self-study, IMO. You'll be fine.

Thank you, lavenderdream!

i self studied both of them last year as a sophomore. bio really isn't much different than regular college prep bio. enviro is just a matter of understanding major concepts. it's pretty easy, actually, as long as you don't try to memorize everything in barron's (you'll go crazy. i know from experience).

anyway, enviro IS looked at as an easy ap. i think stats is usually like an easy class, but people do relatively poorly on the exam. i don't know if people underestimate it or has a crappy curve or what. the point is: enviro is perceived as an easy ap.

very very little of their curricula overlap. all i can think of is the main chemical cycles (the water cycle, the carbon cycle, the nitrogen cycle, etc). their subjects are similar, but the things you need to know for the ap's are not. i made the mistake of not knowing that when i signed up for them a few months ago.

there's no overlap between ap chem and enviro either. as long as you know how to understand stuff like carbon dioxide is CO2 and stuff, you'll be fine.

Alrighty, thanks!
