I'm torn between taking ap chem or ap bio for my senior year science class. (I'm currently a junior). I was going to take AP Chem this year and AP Bio this year but there were some major scheduling conflicts this year so I ended up in Physics Honors (ugh)

I took Biology honors as a freshman and it was okay but I really don't remember much. I had a terrible teacher too. I took Chem Honors last year and I was really good at it, but I'm afraid I'll do badly as a senior in this class since I didn't take it junior year. I don't really remember much from it either.

So anyone who's taken both or either one of these classes, can I have your opinions? I've heard good/bad things about them both.
btw, i want to be a pediatrician or pharmacist or psychiatrist. not sure yet.

I’m in both right now and I looove Bio and hate Chem, but that’s mostly a function of my teachers’ styles.

Both involve a lot of memorization, I guess, but Bio is a lot cooler – I really like learning about what’s going on in my body on the molecular level, 'cause you kinda take these things for granted, you know? But all these particles are moving around doing their things and keeping us alive and stable… I dunno, I just find it fascinating. Some people would rather learn about what’s going on in the world on the atomic level, though, and those people would probably like Chem better. Sooo I dunno. Which topic sounds like it’ll be more fun to you?

I actually really liked both. You can’t go wrong either way if your career involves science. I’d say if you want to be a pharmacist, you should probably take AP Chem. But if you are really not a math kind of person, go with Bio. Bio concepts I think are easier, but there’s more memorization. But if you already took it as a freshman, you should be fine.

AP Chemistry is probably more worth it if you want to become a pharmacist…but atleast on my school it requires a significant amount of more work compared to AP Bio. I recommend asking people in your school about workloads.

okay most people seem to be saying chem.
i think i’ll keep it as my first choice and bio as my second.
chances are that my schedule will have conflicts like last year and i’ll probably be forced to choose one or the other.
i’m just afraid that i’ll be bad at chem since i didn’t take it my junior year though. so i basically lost like over a year in between and i probably forgot how to do a lot.
