I'm a high school junior and am in the midst of registering for next year. I'm taking AP Calculus AB this year and am trying to figure out what to take next year. I can do either AP Calculus BC or AP Statistics. Which should I do? Will it look bad to have both the AP Calculus classes on my transcript?

If you want to pursue math/science at the college level then do AP Calc BC otherwise AP Statistics.

I've never actually heard of anyone taking both AB and BC. In all honesty, I would take Stats. If you take BC it might look like you are only trying to squeeze out an easy grade considering you would already be experienced in half the class.

self study one

why would you take BC if you have already taken AB?

Some kids at my school take both AB and BC, but it isn't very common. I think I heard the GC mention that it's not all that impressive to colleges (compared to kids who just took BC without AB), but it probably wouldn't really hurt you.

definitely do BC, i see no point in why not.

In BC Calculus, you do work with taylor series, polar and vector functions, and go over several more integration techniques than in AB. And you do a few other things, but I forgot what they are.

I think you should take BC because the first half of the year will be super easy for you, and it's a much harder yet worthwhile course than AP stats
