I had expected slope field....implicit differentiation...separation of variables...

Dude, I remember being so happy that I understood implicit differentiation and wasn't even on the test...

All I need is a 3 for college credit... Just a 3...

-The Implicit Coot66

Oh ok, lol.

jlauer95: YES....my feelings exactly. Your eloquence AMAZES me, oh my gosh XD. I do hope that everyone else felt the same spirit-crushing distraction that we did :/...

MC was good (didn't skip any on both parts), but I (and my entire AP Calc class) thought the FR was SUBSTANTIALLY HARDER than those of previous years!!! One thing that struck us is how different the composition of types of questions were on this year's when comparing with the last few year's. We talked to our teacher afterwards and he informed us that every few years, CollegeBoard remodels the FR questions (you can tell that 2003-2006 FR were fairly similar in nature), and this year just happens to be the year.

So in a nutshell, I thought the FR was kinda hard. It actually reminds me of my calc teachers' tests, which are even more insane (but he's really an awesome teacher, taught us many BC topics). He over-prepared us so much, to the extent that I expected a 5 today (in all the practice tests I've done, I've often gotten only 1-2 mistakes in an entire test)...err, let's just hope for a good curve this time :)

the free response was aweful wth was that??! nothing like the old practice tests that we took. we all just kinda sat there and laughed cuz there was nothing else that we could do, i left like half of it blank but i think the mc was pretty good

jlauer95, I think I choked as well. :(

bringing down the curve for us lubinli.

your teacher must be intense

my teacher was so good and everyone in the room today looked at each other smiled and/or laughed. Someone coughed "2" when the proctor said we had ten minutes. We were so prepared in our classes and our teacher is not going to get credit because the FR was so hard. I mean more than half of the 26 she taught got 5's on practice tests and no 2's at all.

i thought the frq was o-k...but that's only because i used the barron's book.
when in doubt, go with barron's~!! the mc was hecka easy tho....the calculator portion for the mc, i finished like 25mins early. then, we all had a ten min break, everybody was talking about how easy it was and how calculus is such a joke.....we were laughing and all upbeat. then came the frq,....ha..ha..ha after the exam, all my friends' faces were frozen over and like WTH. don't worry too much, i'm sure the curve will be EXTREMELY generous!!

The MC is pretty easy--i didnt answer 3 for non calc and i got all of the calc MC. FR was insanely hard!!!!

OrchidThief, yes.

MODERATOR'S NOTE:

We've said it several times in several threads, but I repeat again:

There will be NO discussion of MC questions at all, and NO discussing of FR questions until at least 48 hours after the exam. You read the rules, and we expect you to follow them.

Anyone discussing questions will have their posting privileges suspended.

Moderator Amistad

Ok seriously how can you say the MC was easy when you skipped 7?

I skipped 2 and thought was difficult..

the free response Part A was doable

FR was horrific! I'm glad everyone else feels the same way, so I'm not alone. MC was ok, I skipped like 4 in the non-calc part, and skipped 0 in the calc part. The ones I did do, I feel decent about. I thought the calc part was ridiculously easy, the non-calc was ok, and I was feeling fine about it, and then that FR!!!!!
I was hoping for a 5, now I feel I'll be lucky to even get a 4. I really hope there's a good curve.

Sorry about that Amistad. I was actually just about to delete my post.

Amistad, no one has broken the rules. Shut up.

ye i thought the MC part was easy as well, but the allocation of time was weird....i should have worked faster on the first MC portion. No-calc MC i only got to 23-24, but calc MC i finished with a lot of time remaining.

FR was ok...wrote something for each question, and got at least a/b of each question. Did the best I could, and i'm pretty satisfied. Didn't rush or anything on the FR.

I was also surprised that they allowed you to go back to the 1st FR section on the 2nd FR. I wasn't aware of that rule....interesting

Several posts earlier, one of the users did mention details about a specific FR question, breaking the rule(s) set by the moderator.

Don't prove me wrong. Hahah I'm kidding but still...

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Remember that over 20% get a 5 each year. Without a doubt, CC students are well above average. If the consensus here is that the free response was very difficult, then imagine how the average AP Calc student felt about it. The curve should be quite nice this year.

multiple choice was fairly easy..I didnt skip any
FR was CRAZY HARD!!! i blanked out
good curve hopefully?

mc I=easy, skipped 5 due to just not feeling confident enough in my answer, even though i did get an answer that was one of the choices. harder than the 99 or 03 released exams though
mc II=easiest part of the test, easier than released 99 or 03

frI=easier of the two, but still extremely hard, feel confident in about 15/27 points available
frII=insane. that's it just insane.

i was praying just to pass, but since everyone is complaining, i feel confident in a 3, no matter what and have a shot at a 4, with a nice curve. My dream of a 5 is almost out of the question, unless the cb just sees this was insane and makes a nice nice curve of about 55/108 for a 5, doubt that though.
