I'm a African American teen boy currently a junior I'm high school...I'm taking 3 AP classes...one being calculus bc...i was wondering how getting a C in the first semester of the course will effect my submissions into top schools? like NYU...BU..and.Yale

Well colleges like to at least see an upward grade trend when you’re applying, so a C senior year doesn’t really bode well. However, if you aren’t planning on going in the STEM fields, I’m sure they wouldn’t hold it against you as much.

How does your school show grades on the transcripts? My son’s school only reports the end of year grade. If your school does that, colleges won’t see that grade.

As reeinaz asked, how does your transcript work? My school only showed the final grade in the class. Whether or not this is the case, the year isn’t over. Don’t settle for a C if you’re not happy with it. You have plenty of time to pick up your grade!
