AP Chemistry Takers 5/10?

Hey! I'm devoting the rest of this week/weekend to studying for this exam.

From what I've seen, it looks like the curve is very generous.

If you ace the mandatory equilibrium problem and the reactions questions, you are well over half-way there to getting a 5.

This will be my strategy: about 60/75 MC, ace the equilbrium/reactions, and mediocre other FR.

How are you guys doing with prep work?

haha I have barely started! i worried about APUSH on friday, then im gonna study all sunday. My teacher will kill me if i don't get a 5 after basically acing the class. I just have to brush up on stuff from first semester and I think I'll be fine. Those rxn questions are killer for me though...I'm just trying to get 10/15. Good luck to you all!

According to PR, the average score on the reaction writing part is only around 5/15, so 10 is nothing to lose sleep over :P.

i don't think it'll be hard to pull a 5 on this test if you get 60/75. just bs your way through the essays, and you'll do fine.

this is the hardest out of all the exams im taking this year.... eeekk! wait, its the hardest one ive ever taken o_O"

I'm taking it. i haven't really studied, though. :(
I studied a lot for IB Chem, though, so I'm really hoping AP Chem is about the same or easier.

My teacher has been giving us reaction problems almost every week throughout the year so I am definitely prepared for that part. There are a lot of things I need to brush up on, but overall I feel pretty confident about the Chem test.

I'm pretty confident about AP chem. I took a final with the 2002 exam. Because I forgot to bring my eraser I got a 3/10 an egregious score on the equilibrium problem. I had to cross out a lot of my writing and it was really confusing. However, I was able to get a five still.

To get a 5...I'll probably do what I did with my in class practice exam

54% on the mulitple choice
97% on the free response

Although the curve is very generous, the test is very hard.

I think it is the hardest AP test by far...

How would a 50/75 rank?

I think 50 points out of 75 is low 5/high 4.

Right on the line, eh? This has been a rough year for my AP's. Self-studied the C material from Calc BC in a week, lousy chem class/apathetic teacher. English was not anything like I practiced, and I answered one of the essays in the wrong spot, and AP Physics will be the result of pure self study.

~sigh~ whatever. I got into college. NOW LET ME HAVE MY PEACE, COLLEGEBOARD!!

I've gotten 55/75 on 2003 MC without studying (about 2 weeks ago). And I almost always get perfect 15/15 on reactions (no lower than 12) - I'm pretty good with FR in general, except the lab questions sometimes get me. I'm definitely set for a 4, but I'm gonna study a good amount this weekend and get a 5.

the AP test isn't really that bad if you know what you're doing.
I just reviewed my textbook and im just practicing old AP tests my teacher gave us. He said even if you miss 20 multiple choice and do reasonably well on the free response, you can get a 5. I'm missing about 15-20 MC right now and getting most of FR right, so after studying hopefully ill be ready.

it's not hard at all...

I'm self studying and I need a 3 on the exam which is I think around 50/160 of the points? :D Pretty generous if you ask me but that's worst case senario: I really wish to do better of course but I have OTHER tests to cram for as well.

yeah, the curve is extremely generous.

let's all study up and get 5's.

a three is like 72/160. but this is going to be my easiest ap exam i'd say.
