<p>I'm not taking the AP Chinese, but is there listening on it? I took the SAT II Chinese, and all I remember was stuff like:</p>
<p>Person 1: How do I go to the mall?
Person 2: Please buy my oranges!</p>
<p>and other nonsense like that.</p>
<p>There's listening. As far as I can tell, it's...um, well, pretty straightforward.</p>

Man: It's not very good. In fact, drinking it is like drinking sugar water.</p>

A. Is it that sweet?
B. Is there that much?
C. Is it that fragrant?
D. Is it that salty?</p>

<p>Is there writing on the exam? Do you actually have to write using characters or does han yu ping ying work as well?</p>
<p>I think this one requires the use of characters across the board. Pinyin is only available on the SAT II.</p>

<p>I took AP Spanish language and we had a helluva time with the computers not playing the cd's correctly. I am taking the second semester of chinese at a cc, supposdly the 3nd year of hs chinese, but I can't read characters. I have to do everything auditorily and write in pinyin. If I tried to take the test next year, is it only characters?</p>
<p>AP Spanish was a true monster. We had tapes, though, so it wasn't too bad.</p>
<p>Err, you actually choose if you want simplified or traditional characters. You write in pinyin on the keyboard (otherwise I'd fail)</p>
