AP Chinese: Ready for the Technological Nightmare?

sf49rox:
Given the expansion of India and the College Board, wait a few years. I would venture to say that will occur within the decade. The limiting factor is that not many high schools teach Hindi, and it may not garner enough profit for it to be worthwhile.

i'm taking APchinese next year -- did you guys have a study guide or something like that ??

要告訴我考試難不難唷! ^^

哈哈-我只不过是上了十一年的中文学校-事实上,我还是不太会写或读中文。

Which is to say that I studied by Neopets and Manga in Chinese.

Bahaha, Neopets? I used to spend a lot of time on that in early middle school..

athenegoddess-
The test may be difficult, but we will find out very shortly, and you will be informed soon.
I am sure you could use the Integrated Chinese or Ni Hao series (all of the books available) to reach 2nd-year level.
(I can read the Chinese you have put above, but have no idea how to respond to it in the same language.)

i just moved from Taiwan. so i'm pretty much fluent... so hopefully that helps!!

thanks kman1456!! where could i get the integrated Chinese or ni hao series ??

when i say taking AP chinese, i mean the test... our school doesn't offer the course. i'll take that over AP Spanish any day!

ahh i'm taking the exam tomorrow, and i feel totally unprepared.

i'm pretty much going to wing it, and hope that because i speak the language occasionally i'll do alright. =S

does anyone know how much emphasis they put on culture/tradition and that stuff?

well seeing how this is the first year, anything goes because you don't know what to expect. =/

good luck to everyone doing this... ugh.

祝大家好运!
如果这个考试全是手写题,我真会全面不及格了!
Yea, so I'm just practicing now, on CC, haha this is funny.
We don't have to bring earphone or anything like that like we had for SAT II right?

Both are published by the Cheng&Tsui company, and all are available on Amazon.

i want there to be an AP Pinyin. :P

yi jia er deng yi shen me?
a) ling
b) yi
c) san
d) wo bu zhi dao
e) wo de shu xie hen bu hao

C
actually E. :P

wa (or ai you :P), ni hen cong ming! ni yao mai wo de ping guo ma?
ming tian ni (uhh... take?) Calc BC ma? wo men ke yi yong zhong wen jiang kao shi de wen ti

lawl.
will take: hui kao

dui bu dui?

Kaoshi = test. Kao shenme = take a test in something, I believe. But this is certainly correct:

Ni mingtian you mei you Calc BC de kaoshi?

zhu kou, hao zhong wen ren.

大家好!
今天的考试难吗?我准备明年要考ap中文。 大家有什么建议关于我该巩固哪方面的知识吗?谢谢!

Same here, I'm considering taking it next year... But I'm not uber-good at chinese, I was born in the US and... have lived here all my life. I'm fluent, and okay at reading, but my writings a whole different story. Any opinions?

我今天考了AP。 我六岁离开中国,一直自学到现在。
Okay, my brain is already too fried from that test to continue typing in Chinese. So yea, the test wasn't hard at all, but I found I stumbled alot during the test. The MC was a total joke, but the FRQ was not. It was actually time consuming and I found I was out of time in some. At least i think I fared better than others in my room who didn't finish answering. I'll give some detail after the 48 hr rule.
It took 1:15 minutes just for us to START the test, and I think that was actually hardest part: the waiting.
