So I'm currently self-studying for Calc outside school, and am planning to take the AP test. However, in school I am only in precalc. So if I do get a 5 on the AP test, should I still take the Calc class at my school next year? I know it will be really boring if I do, but how will colleges look at this?

Thanks

Ask your counselor if they allow you to skip it in your school. If they do, then go ahead and skip it.

Yeah, it's skippable at my school. But if I do skip it, would it be bad not to have a calc class on the transcript, taken that I am probably going to major in engineering?

No, you have finished the material. Move on to something else, like Linear Algebra or at least MV Calculus.
