AP Classes and getting into a good college? Can i do it?

I am at the end of my sophomore year now in HS and am totally lost. I have missed like 20 days this year and know how bad that is! Freshman year I did pretty good but I got my first Cs. With the exams and previous nine weeks grades, colleges will only see the average for my freshman year which were A&Bs. This year has been the worst!! I have gotten a C every 9weeks and last nine weeks I got my first Ds... One for algebra 2 H and one for WHAP. I know I can still get a good grade this 9 weeks and do okay on the exam for Algebra, so a college wont see a D for that, but I dont know how WHAP will be!? We have the actual WHAP test tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I wont get above a 3. I took Human geography the year before and got a 1 on the exam.
Do you think if I button up and fly straight my junior and senior year I will get into UCF? Thats my dream school!!!
So far in high school:
-2 years of ROTC (thats all im doing)
-Plan on doing track junior and senior year
-bringing up my 3.3 unweighted gpa
-WHAP
-APHG

Should I take APUSH next year even though I havent ever passed an AP exam? Does an AP class still look good on a transcript even if you didnt pass the class? Is there anything else I can do in HS to really help me getting into UCF? Do I have a chance with all the days I've missed so far?

Thank you!!
Sorry for all the questions!

**I'm seeing my guidance counsler Friday but I just wanted to know about these questions now because I'm flipping out!!
