Semester Improvement.

Hey everyone. You may have seen my posts before, and I am a junior in HS currently. So here is my problem:

I took 6 ap classes this year, in addition to one regular class and one class from summer. The first semester is ending and I did really mediocre, finishing with a 3.0 unweighted and a 3.75 weighted. This is the lowest my GPA has ever been, and I believe that is due to me not being used to such a nasty courseload.

My question is: If I turn it around and get straight A's this coming semester, ending it with a 3.875 UW and 4.65 W, will the bad first semester be looked upon with more leniency by admissions officers? My past year gpa was 3.5 UW and 3.9 W. I don't want the bad first semester of junior year to be indicative of my overall capability.

Thanks to all those who offered an opinion!

Funny I just posted about having a bad Junior Year and then trying to recover with a good senior semester. I’d definitely try and excel this 2nd Junior semester, as it’s def not too late for you. If they see the improvement, it’ll go a long ways in helping you out. They’ll see that you worked hard without dropping any classes, and overcame a temporary bad streak

Can anyone offer any advice?

Yeah. I was close to dropping a class but decided to muscle it through.

colleges like to see an upward trend and improvement in grades. it is good you stuck things out and improved the grade
