AP Classes Toughness

Please rate AP Biology, AP European History, and AP Calculus on a scale of 1-10. I am taking these classes and want to know how much time I should spend on each. (Harder=More Time)

I don’t know about Euro, but Bio is likely to eat up a lot of time. How much time a class like Calc BC will take will very heavily depend on you.

Forgot to say I am taking Caclculus AB and will self study BC

IMHO:

AP Biology: 2
AP Euro: 7
AP Calc: 3

It depends on your school. Biology was fairly simple and straightforward, and the teacher grades on a fantastic curve (I have a 100.2% right now…) Now, I’m not saying that her pass rates are fantastic, similarly-speaking, but I’ve been reviewing on my own so I’m exempt from those statistics.

It all depends on the school and the teacher.

If you’re talking about the difficulty of the subject, then that’s another story.

why is Euro so hard meadow 36? I heard Biology was the hardest AP class

AP Bio = 3
AP Calc = 2

I don’t know about Euro, but its probably harder than those two.

Calling Bio and Calc as 2 and 3 is silly. What are Environmental Science and Psych then, 1? There’s nothing that can be established as between those two?

You guys are jackasses.

Can I say AP Chem wins in toughness?

From my experience I would say that history APs are harder than science ones because history APs so much more subjectively graded. I’m basing this off of my experiences with LatinAP, EuroAP, ChemAP, and BioAP.

If 1 were Enivornmental Science and 10 were Mandarin for someone who doesn’t speak it at home:

Calc: 3
Euro: 4
Bio: 6

And no, goodbyehello, you most certainly cannot. I thought Chem was one of the easier ones. Way easier than Bio or Physics B.

“Can I say AP Chem wins in toughness?”

Since it’s probably easier than all the three mentioned (though I really don’t know anything about Euro, my school didn’t offer it), no.

^ really? For me calc and bio (don’t know about euro either) were so much easier than Chem…

****, I’ll rate every AP if you guys want me to, to make this easy. You can’t rate Bio and Calc as 2’s or 3’s, there are some AP’s that’d be -12’s then.

Calc is one of the few APs at my school that virtually nobody studies for and everyone qualified does well on. Our teacher, who is extremely good, might be the lurking variable.

AP Calculus: 4. This is a skill-based class, so I believe it’s quite easy. There isn’t much to memorize, except for some basic concepts. If you have a weak math background, then this class would be difficult. However, if that is the case, studying and practicing problems would definitely earn you a passing score, if not more. If you have a strong math background, then this should be an easy class. Based on the tests from previous years, AP Calc exam follows a very predictable pattern, and once you know how to “play the game,” so to speak, you should be fine.

AP European History: I can’t say anything about this class because I’ve never taken it. However, I firmly believe that history and social science classes are 5.5 in difficulty, since these type of classes tend to be more memory-based than skill-based (except for AP Comparative Politics, which deserves a 2). If you think that AP Comparative Politics is difficult, then you might want to consider studying hard for this class.

AP Biology: 7. I thought this is a tough class. The concepts are easy to understand, however, there are a lot to memorize. AP Bio is basically a large lists with more lists under each of those things listed. It is a class that you should spend considerable amount of time on, probably even more than AP Calculus.

Are you good at math/science? Are you good at humanities?

A lot of people here are rating bio and cal as really low numbers… however… for me… those would be like 6’s and 7’s and AP Euro would be like a 2-4.

I would say

Bio-6 (so much memorization!)
Euro-5 (but only cause my teacher is crap.
