AP & College Credits

I searched the site and checked the registrar, but I can't seem to find where on the website for more info regarding Dartmouth's policy on AP & college credits

any help would be appreciated!

here you go...

thanks sybbie

sorry if i missed this on the website, but if you qualify for a credit via AP or college course, does that count towards the 35 (?) required credits/courses(?) for graduation? or is it like Brown's policy where the minimum number of credits/courses must be taken regardless of AP/College courses

It depends. Where it says you get "credit" that means one less class you need to take to graduate.(35-#). Where is says "exemption" it means that you still need to take 35 classes, but you can take an upper-level class instead of the intro

If I want to use my AP Spanish test score, it says "exemption from foreign lang requirement." Does that mean, if I got a 4, it means I get a B for the course, and if I got a 5, I get an A for the course. or does it simply mean I passed, with no specific translated grade? thanks.

^^ same question if it says "credit" instead of exempt

for college courses, would D take the grade received in the course?

If you get "credit" for a course no actual grade will show up on your Dartmouth transcript. There will simply be an indication of the course and CR indicating credit. there is "no benefit " as far as calculating your GPA (but your GPA isn't hurt either :) )
