How difficult is it to get a 5 on this test?

Not very- I took it as a freshman with no computer science experience and got a 5. I studied my brains out (way over studying) but still, it’s definitely pretty easy. Granted if you’re wired toward history, etc., this probably isn’t the course for you, but even if you are, you’re guaranteed a fairly good chance of doing well.
For me, the hardest to conquer was Gridworld, so I would spend a fairly high amount of working with that.
Prepbookwise, get Maria Litvin’s book: Litvin’s Be Prepared for the AP Computer Science Exam. It’s outdated and contains info on the AB (now obsolete) exam as well, but the A practice exams were actually in my opinion harder than the actual AP exam so I finished the FRQ’s really fast.
