If I get a B in AP course, is it counted as a B’s or a A’s in the calculation for UC GPA?
It’s counted as a 4.0 in the UC GPA, so same as a regular A.
Thanks for your response. I’m not sure if I understand it right. In calculating UC GPA, they asks for how many A’s and how many B’s and how many AP semesters.
I got more than 8 AP semesters, but some of them are A’s and some of them are B’s. Do I count these B’s as A’s in the question of how many A’s? Sorry if I confuse you.
First, you count and add up all A’s and B’s in 10th-11th grades regardless of regular/honors/AP (A = 4, B = 3, C = 2).
Then, for the capped UC GPA, you add one bonus point for each honors/AP semester, up to the max of 8 bonus points.
Finally, you divide by the number of letter grades to get the UC GPA.
To get the uncapped GPA, repeat the above steps except there is no limit to the number of bonus points.

The calculator only does capped UC (8 semesters).
You only use the grades from the a-g courses listed on the UC website in the calculation for 10-11th grade. Also not all honors courses are UC approved, so you need to check your HS course list using this link: https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist#/list/search/all
